Chapter 1

Tris POV

Ohh

My

GAWD

I hate alarm clocks

And at 5:00 am jeez

why does makeup take so long to put on

The worst part is that I take a LLOOONNGG time to shower

An all for what

My first day at a new high school

I will probably embarrass myself

Like always

I'm so predictable

While rolling off of the bed

I wonder what I'm going to wear

If I'm going to embarrass myself

at least do it while looking good

So I stand up go to my shower and have a shower

Next I go to my closet grab a purple sparkly crop top and low cut short shorts

Apply some makeup and I put my hair into a high ponytail

I actually look good

Like I mean I'm not a jaw dropper and head turner but I'm not going to be a total outsider either

Well at least I wasn't at my old school

I guess we will see

"TRIS" I hear Caleb calling from the other room

"WHAT" I yell back

"MOM MADE PANCAKES" he hollers

"K"

End of convo for us

I'm pretty sure Caleb's gay

He's a nice guy but he flirts with all of my guy friends

I run down the stairs

Well I Practically leap down them

And the smell of pancakes fill my nose

I eat 4 pancakes

When I finish I check the time

OMG school starts at 8:00 am and it's 7:56 am

I can't be late!

I run to school

I step into the doors at the bell rings

I head to the front office and the cutest guy is standing there

"Um hello" I say uncertainly

"Hey I'm four here's your schedule and I'll show you where your locker is and after that I'll show you where everything is in this school" he spits out faster that light

"I'm Tris" I mumble

"Ya I know" he replies " just so you know I don't do this often so I'm nervous I'll screw up"

"No, I'm the screw up" I say

"Doubt it" he whispers

We both kind of laugh

An awkward laugh

We walk a little ways in silence

Four breaks the silence between us and says "Here's your locker and since we are in the same classes I'll walk you there and I'll show you around after, Ms. Zina hates when kids are late"

And so the day begins.
