"God, how I missed this town!", thought the girl when she stepped out of the plane.- Berlin, I am back! she smiled when she was finally able to get out of the airport.
The weather was not very good, but she didn't care. It was quite chilly and cloudy, and the sky was looking like it was going to start pouring soon. She loved this weather, and was actually very happy that she was having a few days off during this season. It was the second time she visited the city, even if the first time she was there could not be considered a real visit, because she was there for work purposes.
This time she was she was in Berlin to see a concert of one of her favorite bands. She had various occasions to see them live, but they were either having concerts in far away countries or she couldn't take time off. This time too, she had to fly 10 hours from home to Europe, but since she also wanted to visit the city and needed time off, she couldn't lose this opportunity. Since she had a long flight ahead, she had also decided to stay there a few more days, to enjoy the city and the weather. She had booked a hotel near the city center, because she wanted to walk a lot while she was there.
After a half an hour trip with a local train, she finally reached her destination. She let her luggage down and then threw herself on the bed.
- Agghhhh finally here, I can't believe this. I feel tired, but I still want to take a walk around the neighborhood. And then eat something. Maybe a nice bowl of kimchi soup? Ha, this sounds good! she said to herself.
She closed her eyes, wanting to rest for a few minutes, but she fell asleep. She woke up after a few hours and it took her a few minutes to realize where she was. She washed her face, changed her clothes and was then ready to explore a part of the city. She took her phone and put on the headphones and started playing her favorite music. For about an hour she quietly walked around the streets, admiring the stunning architecture of the buildings. She stopped when she noticed a store appearing in front of her.
- Okay, what the hell? I am in Berlin, and I stumble upon a Kpop store? Really? Ahmm, should I go inside? Yeah, whatever, even if you think don't want to, you gotta admit that you actually wish to go inside. And with that, she went inside and started exploring the shelves. She was somehow disappointed because apparently they only had the latest albums on the market. She looked around a little more, and then noticed a little glass case which had some very interesting titles. She spent a few minutes in front of it, trying to decide what to buy. She soon gave up and ended buying 6 albums. When she finally was outside, she looked at the time.
- Oh crap, it's late. I have to find something to eat, and then prepare for the concert. Maybe I should forget the idea of kimchi, even if I find it, it will not be like the one at home, so...I guess I should stick to some local food.
She then returned to the main square hoping to find some street food vendors. She new that chances were quite big that the food sold on the street was actually very very good. She immediately found what she was looking for a hundred meters in front of her. While she was heading in that direction she was typing some messages on her phone, almost bumped into someone. She immediately took off her headphones and apologized to the person in front of her, and then looked up. She stood in front of a young boy, and he was also trying to apologize to her.
- I am really sorry, he said bowing in front of her. I...I should have paid more attention.
- I am sorry too, I wasn't looking around while I was walking.
- A-are you okay?
- Yes don't worry that much about me. Nothing happened, or if anything, you just scared me a little bit, she said smiling to the boy. You are a tourist, right? she then continued pointing to he camera he was holding.
- Yeah. It's my first time here, and I really like taking photos of the buildings and all. Oh, and I was trying to figure what to eat.
- Hahaha, me too! Do you want something in particular? Maybe I can give you some suggestions.
- Oh, I thought you were a tourist too...
- I am, but it's already the second time I come here. I was also looking for some street food, because I think it's a good choice in all cities around the world.
- Maybe I should have researched before, street food sound amazing, but I would have no idea what to choose. What do you suggest?
- Well if you don't mind, you can come with me. Look, there's this vendor right behind us.
