Preston' s P.O.V.
I opened my eyes and Rob was gone. I yawned and rubbed my eyes swinging my feet over the side of the couch. My feet tapped the coffee table and a black figure darted across my peripheral vision. My eyes darted over to the place it had been.
"Rob?" I whispered in case it was not him. The figured disappeared into the shadows and I looked at it wearily. I stood up using the table for help. I stretched a little and popped my back so I could move properly.
Crash!
My head turned swiftly to the kitchen and I saw a few pieces of glass come rolling out. I heard muffled screams and a soft evil laugh. I cautiously walked over and hid behind the wall. I peeked my head out into the kitchen. No one.
I gulped and stepped into the open. I raised my hands to my chest ready to punch if I needed to. I looked around and saw the kitchen was a disaster. It was like someone was struggling against another. I spotted a red patch and my breath hitched in my throat. I tip-toed over to the spot and examined it. It was just wine. I looked at the broken glass and noted it was a broken wine glass.
'Why would Rob be drinking wine?' I thought and picked up the rest of the glass. Then something else came to mind.
'Why did Rob drop the glass!?' My eyes darted to the stairs leading to the rooms downstairs. The door was open. When I went to sleep it was not open. I knew it was closed.
I walked over to the door and my heart sunk. I heard whimpers and groans of pain. I heard something fall like metal hit the floor. I gulped again and opened the door, careful not to make any noise.
"Please, no. I promise." A hushed voice rang out from the rooms. I heard a hiss and someone demanding another in a quiet tone. Nothing happened and then a shriek rang out.
"Please! No! I still need to do one thing! I have to! Please No!" I cringed at the sound of a cracking bone. The sound of someone breaking another's nose. Whimpering sounded again and the click of a gun echoed through the quiet hall. My heart was beating and I finally made it to the bottom of the stairs.
"Anything left to say?" The hissing voice sounded and someone else's voice replied.
"Do you really have to kill him?" The boy sounded sad and lonely.
"I already said he was a dead man. Now I promised it. I always keep my promises. You should know that by damn well now!" He hissed and shuffled around.
"So what is one accident happens. That was only one time! It will never happen again dude." He pleaded. I walked down the hall.
"Yes, it will never happen again. I will make sure of this." He growls out and the first man gasps and I hear sobs echo out.
"Now any last words?" He asks one more time.
I peek in through the open door and what I see scares me. Rob is tied to the wall in chains. Jerome is holding a gun up to his forehead and Mitch has a collar and is chained to the other side of the room. Mitch has tears beginning to start and Rob's face is red and his eyes were puffy swollen. Blood was running from his nose and a sick purple bruise was forming on his left cheek.
"Rob!" I yell and then smack my hands over my mouth. His eyes dart up at me and Jerome turns around pointing th gun at me. Mitch turned to me and complete horror was written on his face. He tried to get up but fell due to the chain on the collar.
