They stood there. Still staring deep into each other's eyes. Brendon then found, in Ryan's deep brown eyes, why he had a crush on him. Maybe Ryan came to him because he wanted them to be together. Brendon felt a lure. He wanted him. He wanted to see how they would be in a relationship.
Brendon got the courage to ask, "Ry, would you like to go out sometime?"
Ryan was flabbergasted. What if he knew that was why he was there? What if they ended up together? What if this was just a big joke? Ryan wanted this, so he wanted to believe they would be something really special. They were going to be special. They had to be special.
"Yes!" Ryan exclaimed.
They immediately embraced each other. This had to be a dream. It couldn't be real. Or is it? Brendon didn't know what to think of it. He was excited. He was anxious. He was in love. Is this what love really is? An illusion? A bunch of other feelings combined? Love is a complicated thing, but he knew he had it with Ryan.
They were going to go on a date later that night, so they had to do something in the meantime. But they were both anxious, excited, and super happy that this was going to happen. Ryan had to unpack, shower, and find a nice outfit while Brendon had to shower and pick out his outfit. Ryan started to unpack and Brendon finished eating.
They both showered and found their outfits. It was almost time! Nothing could explain just how excited they both were! Ryan walked out to the kitchen where Brendon stood waiting, watching the television.
"You ready?" Brendon dared to ask.
"I've always been ready," Ryan replied, blushing.
Brendon smiled. They were really going to do this. After so long, they were going to reunite. This was the day that their dreams would come true. Brendon had longed for Ryan since they met. He always felt connected to Ryan and wanted to ask him out, but he was too afraid of rejection. He was devastated when Ryan left. Ryan hadn't liked Brendon from the start, but their connection grew the longer they were together. There was this special, indescribable bond between them.
They got into Brendon's car and left the driveway. They were going to a formal restaurant called Barrique. Their first date in a candle-lit Italian restaurant. This was going to be something to remember.
As they entered the restaurant, they ordered and ate, having great conversations, connecting again. They talked about what happened when they were apart, the problems of why Ryan left, depressing moments, and happy moments. Ryan even talked about every moment that led to him tracking Brendon down and doing what he did.
Brendon and Ryan were now in more love, now that they worked through all their problems and questions about anything. Who knows what would happen after this? Ryan had said they were done eating, Brendon paid, and Ryan took the car and drove them to the beach.
"Okay. Listen to me. Take off your socks and shoes. Leave them here. Do you trust me?" Ryan had said.
"I trust you," Brendon said while taking off his socks and putting them in his shoes in the car.
Ryan smiled, took Brendon's hand, and ran across the shore. The wind was brushing against their faces as they ran side by side, hand in hand, feet in sync. This moment lasted forever but ended shortly. Ryan stopped. They had reached the spot. Ryan pointed toward the moon.
"You see how the water reflects the moon and shines light onto those rocks?" Ryan asked.
"It's beautiful," Brendon said staring at the wonder. He had never seen anything like this.
"When I'm feeling down, I come here. It cheers me up to see how one object, 238,900 miles from the earth, can make rocks light up by shining at the water. It's a wonder."
"I see what you mean."
Brendon looked over at Ryan. Ryan was watching Brendon. They looked into each other's eyes for a second before Ryan came closer to Brendon, pulled him in, and gently kissed him. They then stood there, Ryan's arms around Brendon, rocking back and forth slightly, looking at the water. This night was like a dream. No one would think it was real, maybe from a movie, but not from reality. That is the magic of Ryan and Brendon. They can make anything happen.
