Chapter 8

Kit's POV

It's been 15 minutes since Ivan left. I'm busy working to stable myself. If I get alone now. I won't be able to handle it. I noticed someone went near me. I look at her.

"Hey, Ging." I said.

"You sure you're okay?" She said.

"I will be."

I continued working. I told Ginger that I don't need to take a break even though she insisted that I should. When my shift end. I told her I'll be having a full day shift until my classes starts. She just said okay and she will fix my schedule for shifting. I got home tired and drained. I gave Luke his dinner early. I wasn't able to eat some that night. Luke hopped on my bed and I just hugged him. I miss him.

That was when I didn't notice I fell asleep. I was woken up by the sound of my phone ringing. I answered unknowingly who called. I laid back on my bed.

"Hello?" I said.

"Babe, I miss you." Ivan said.

"Thank God you called."

"Why? Are you doing something horrible?"

"Starving myself all day?"

"Babe."

"I miss you what can I do."

"Then eat something right now. I won't hang-up."

"Okay."

I went to the kitchen to whip something up for me. Luke was watching me. I must have worried him. I sighed. I was eating at the counter top while I was talking to Ivan on phone.

"Have you arrived yet?" I asked.

"Not yet. I was bored and I missed you too. So instead of sleeping for the rest of the trip. I called you. And it is worth it. Are you eating now?"

"Yes. Luke's worried about me since I got home."

"Has Luke eaten yet?"

"Yes, of course. He would bite me if I didn't feed him right."

"I would bite you if you don't feed yourself."

"Don't make me miss you more."

"I love you, Kit."

"I love you too."

"How was work by the way. Ginger kept you busy?"

"I kept myself busy. Didn't Ginger call you?"

"She did. I asked her about you and she said you weren't taking breaks and you wanted to change your shift to a whole day."

"Yes. Until my class starts. I'll revert back to half day shifting once class starts."

"Aren't your schedule of classes are mostly half day too."

"Some of it. But some of it are on a whole day."

"Would you be okay with the shifting?"

"Probably. Ging is making my schedule already."

"I miss you, Kit."

"I miss you too, so damn much."

"Please eat right."

"I'm trying."

"So aside that, how was your day?"

We talked about my day and his. I finished eating and washing the dishes. I was preparing to sleep when Ivan said something that woke me up.
