Chapter 07

Victoria is no teenager. She has already reached the age of 26 and she is used to settle all her troubles by herself. She was always independent, great and dedicated student. She was even so smart that they let her skip several grades. She was proud of herself in a healthy way, knew her limits, strengths and weaknesses and therefore she rarely met someone who would be able to catch her off guard and shock her. That unexpectedly changed last year when a stunning man entered her private box in the theatre. She never saw anyone so handsome. It was nearly ridiculous. That man's appearance was very feminine yet she could sense his manliness that was making her throat compress. His eyes as black and hot as hell were giving her chills. His apparent self-confidence was nearly as big as her own. He was watching her carefully, checking her out, scanning her and evaluating her. He was searching for her true self, for something inside of her. That was unusual. Most of men tend to see pretty face and body and they didn't look further. Victoria used to consider her attractive appearance for a curse. She thought if she was plain and dull, no one would notice her, only the one and only man, who would see her in a true light.
Today she went for a horse ride with William Lane, one of her suitors. He used to be reasonable, never pressured her. Victoria liked to have a company on her horse rides, that's why she took William with her. He lost his common sense entirely and decided to propose her. Victoria was never intending to agree to it but then Hak Yeon appeared.
Seeing him in the hall before was like a strike of a lightning. Victoria hoped to overcome that strange obsession but as soon as she looked at him it was all back. Those butterflies in her stomach, goosebumps, compressed throat. Luckily she was trained to hide her emotions at any circumstances. Unfortunately the encounter in the hall wasn't the last. When Hak Yeon interrupted William's proposing, Victoria was glad and terrified at once. She wanted to spend time with him, yet she was scared of it. She was scared of her own reactions to him. She has never felt so much attracted to someone. She was scolding herself for such a weakness. The worst thing was, she didn't feel weak with him. She felt strong, beautiful and amazing whenever he was near her.
Victoria touches her lips. Hak Yeon left her in the park and the dog walkers passed her. She is alone with her horse, still little bit shaken and feeling physical pain from the fact he didn't finish what he had begun. Her lips are hot, wet and swollen. Her shirt is still emitting a light scent of his colognes. She can very clearly recall the pressure of his erection against her thigh. It didn't shock her but it was moving in a way. Most of her suitors were going after her money or her title. They were never expressing a passion or desire, maybe they simply felt nothing to her. Knowing that this gorgeous man wants her in a physicall way was... It was just breath taking. However she can't fall for him. Victoria decides to be strict on herself in this. They are not a good match. They might feel the mutual attraction but it's not a good base for a relationship, if he even considers such an arrangement. And if he's just after some fun then Victoria has to avoid him at any case. She knows herself too well. She would give her heart and he would broke it with no mercy. Maybe not deliberately but it would be the outcome of it. Therefore Victoria needs to state the limits. She has to be strict and never let him to kiss her again.
