Megalomaniac:
A person with an obsessive desire for POWER.
At the sight of these words, Sans gave Frisk a pointed look, which some noticed.
None of them saw Agate clutch her chest however, past memories coming to light, and Copper and Asriel wince at the thought of some they had dealt with.
They all put aside whatever thougts they had when soft piano began to play, a familiar melody that seemed to reach into the deepest corner of one's heart.
Listen and hear a song the birds are singing
Sit down a while, and watch the flowers blooming
A pleasant breeze flows by, leaving a trail of dust
As the song started, the screen showed Frisk and Sans in the Judgement Hall - grand pillars and polished golden tiles setting the scene.
"They actually made it that far...?" Undyne watched the scene in curiosity, wondering how on earth Frisk would have managed to beat her if they ever crossed paths. "Well, they couldn't possibly get past me! I'd never hold back if I had to fight them, because everyone's hope and dreams are counting on it!"
"A trail of dust..." was all Asgore could say, hoping this wouldn't lead where he thought it would. "They didn't...no, they couldn't..."
Onscreen, Frisk gripped their knife tighter, while Sans, with his signature grin, stared out the window as if reminiscing of better times.
Then, in the matter of a few seconds, everything went black and white, and a bunch of bones rose from the ground, courtesy of Sans' glowing eye.
This.... is.... your...fault, right?
Standing in the corridor....who would have thought we'd be here like this together?
On a pleasant day like this, I ask, 'what is it that you want'?
Frisk jumped back, the bones missing their target, but Sans only grinned wider and snapped his fingers.
Within seconds, giant skeletal structures appeared behind them, and the child turned around a second too late as they let out blasts of light, effectively vaporising them and shattering their soul to pieces.Meanwhile in the audience, everyone winced at the thought of Frisk dying like that - Toriel nearly choked, on the verge of tears, Jessica and Rave reached out towards the screen in horror as if that would bring them back, Asgore flinched at the sound of it breaking apart, and Papyrus gave his brother a look of betrayal.
"SANS...YOU....YOU..."
"it's fine," Sans replied, having experienced all this before. "they'll come back eventually. just watch."
I believe there was a time, when we could be pals and things were better
Eating bad food, enjoying laughs
Can we go back to that?
Onscreen-Frisk tried to attack Sans this time, but he used his telekinesis and sent them flying into a wall of bones that awaited them, the child getting impaled. That made their soul shatter once more, and they somehow appeared in the room again. A few memories came back, both of them reflecting on the past...until Sans revealed his glowing eye, while Frisk ran at him, an image of Chara watching over them with a smile.
"What...you're still alive?" Robin breathed, glad Frisk was even okay after being hit so many times. "But...how..."
"It must be their Determination," Alphys wondered, amazed at how much the child had. "I've never seen so much of it before...well, except..." The monster visibly deflated, her tone becoming saddened as she whispered something none of them could hear.
