JASON GRIMACED at the older's tone, cringing inwardly at his own actions. he was dumb to believe that percy would let him keep a pet, and he knew it. they were against the rules, plain and simple. but he was too far in; jason's pride wouldn't let him back down now.
"first of all, he has a name," jason begun, trying to seem proud and confident, "which is norbert, you know, like harry potter? wait, do you even know what harry potter is? i know kids from camp can be pretty sheltered somet-"
"of course i know what harry potter is," percy said, cutting him off, "but what does that have to do with anything? you know what, nevermind. i'm writing you up for this." the raven-haired boy gestured towards the tank, feeling exhausted by the endeavor.
"why?" jason inquired, trying to stall so he could think of something to say.
"because the rules, jason."
"which one?" at this point, jason was running out of time and out of creativity. he hoped that something would come to him soon, seeing the annoyance written all over the other's face.
percy sighed, "section 2, rule 4c. 'cats and dogs are not allowed. fish are the only pet allowed in the dorms,'" he recited.
"see? it doesn't say anything about lizards!"
"yeah well i say they're not fucking allowed." percy was done at this point. done with jason and his shenanigans, and just done in general. he huffed a sigh before walking away.
