I could tell from the look in his eyes that he was in pain but tried to hide the feeling. Many thought that Marcus was a man of a little word he sure was now, Marcus made it his mission to not say a word to anyone since he's been in the hospital the last two days. If he was asked a question he would answer them with eyes, I don't know how he does it but he does. The police has also been to see him, as expected Marcus just stared at them with the same cold glare he would give me when I was in his presence. Since, he told me that Jamir was the one behind his stabbing I've been ignoring Jamir, who has been blowing up my phone leaving aggressive voicemails that I would always delete after listening to them twice. As I expected, it was nothing but abusive voicemails.

I stayed silent watching them both intensively, both meaning Marcus and his nurse, Liv. I noticed that the smile that she flashed him, while tucking the strands of her hairs behind her ear as Marcus said something to her. She has been the only person that he has spoken to willingly within the last two days of him being in here. And I couldn't help but feel a tad pain tug at my heart.

"I'll be back to check on you later Marcus." She tells him, while taking small steps back with her eyes still glued on him.

"Ina bit Liv." He replies back. I sucked my teeth as she left through the same doors she had come through. I felt his eyes linger over onto me then he looked away towards the windows. Sighing, I picked up my bag and turn to leave. I haven't slept in two days and my body was crying for me to rest, even though I felt tired and drained due to the stress and the baby growing inside of me I couldn't rest even if I wanted to, I felt as it was my fault that he was here. I've been absent from university, also I had to lie and tell them that I was having family problems which wasn't a slight lie as the father of my child is in hospital. "Where you going?"

I looked over my shoulder at him.

"Are you talking to me?" He gave me a blank stare. "All of a sudden you have time to talk to me Marcus? In case you have forgotten I have a child growing inside of me that I have been neglecting because of this whole situation. He or she didn't ask to be apart of all this so I'm going home to rest Marcus, I haven't slept in two days." I tell him, "I need to rest."

"It was your dickhead of a man that stabbed man so dead talking to me like that big man ting Nahla."

I turn to face him.

"I know that!" I yell in frustration. "You think I don't feel guilty enough Marcus? If you want to you can blame me! Blame me Marcus, because I already do. Trust me." I sucked my teeth. "I've been here for two days Marcus, two fucking days I stay here all day and night with you - I go home to freshen up then I'm right back here at your bed side just for you to ignore me as if I'm the one that used the knife on you or told Jamir to do that! I didn't do that, Marcus but I'm sorry!"

"Is everything alright?" I looked towards the door to Liv's head popping through the door, her eyes diverting between both, Marcus and I.

"Everything is good, I was just leaving." I looked back towards Marcus who was just watching me. "I'm not asking you Marcus nor begging you to be there for your child. I'm not doing that but stop acting as if I got pregnant by myself." I tell him, then pushed past Liv who was stood there confused.
