I followed my instinct and slowly placed my bow on the ground and then slowly, I intertwined my fingers and then placed my hands on the back of my neck so they could see I wasn't going to try anything.
Both the man and woman death glared me for a few minutes before both looking at each other as if for approval, then softening up and slowly lowering their guns. I took the opportunity to let my hands fall down to my sides.
The African American man furrowed his eyebrows while staring at me before asking, "were you a part of woodbury? Had you been staying here?"
I nodded my head.
The man's gaze shifted from my face to my bow on the ground, then back to my face. His eyes widened in realization, "oh! You're the girl with an amazing shot, yeah, I was a part of the crowd watching you, you truly are a great shot."
I attempted to give a small smile in return, the man seemed laid back and nice enough, but he wasn't a weak, scrawny guy either. The African American women standing next to him seemed as if she was scared or annoyed all the time.
The man stuck his hand out, "I'm Tyreese."
"Hallie," I replied shaking his hand.
"I'm Sasha, but this town isn't what it used to be, the Governor's gone along with everyone but the elders and children. We're running out of food, water, ammunition, medical supplies, fuel, just everything. You'd honestly be safer out there, but we aren't going to kick you out," she rambled on, clearly stressed.
Seeing as I had no where to go, and I walked all day yesterday-so much that my injured calf felt like it was about to fall off- I decided it actually might be better for me to stay for a night, then move one.
"I'll stay for a night," I said, stating my decision.
I picked up my bow, and dug in my back pocket, and sure enough, my apartment key was still in it.
I started walking away from Sasha and Tyreese and towards my apartment when Tyreese called out "hey! Come with us first, our group is getting ready for lunch."
As if on cue, my stomach grumbled and I couldn't resist, so I turned and started waking with the two of them to one of the storage buildings.

I finished off the last chip out my small bag, I didn't realize exactly how much I missed food I would eat frequently before the apocalypse.
The people that were left in Woodbury were also gathered in the supply room, and Sasha was right, there wasn't much for supplies left, not even enough to last this large group a day or two.
The room was filled with elders and children, just like they had said. The children, who were too young to understand or even care, mindlessly ate, talked, and got up to play after while the frail, sickly looking elders watched over them. I tried hard to imagine these people surviving beyond these walls, but I couldn't picture them lasting more than a day or two.
Even for just sitting and watching them for the past half hour, I could see these were good enough people that had been tainted by the dark world yet, and because of that I thought that they deserve the best chance they got, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
When I got up to throw away my trash, I found Tyrese and Sasha talking quietly to each other. Sasha especially looked like she hadn't slept in days due to the stress.
"I think you should take everyone to the prison," I stated, standing in front of them.
"What?" Sasha questioned.
She laughed, almost snorted, a little and said "you mean those twisted people that destroyed our group, the group that's the reason we're in this whole mess in the first place?"
"They aren't who the Governor made them out to be, they're good people with a good set up, a place these people need to be able to survive. It's you're best chance," I said meaning almost every word.
Sasha was about to speak when Tyreese butted in, "you know where it is?"
I nodded my head, I've been back and forth a couple of times, I should be able to find the way there.
"Would you you be willing to lead us there tomorrow morning?" he asked, and when I nodded another yes, a smile crept onto his face.
And with that, I retrieved my bow and headed for my room, leaving Tyreese to be yelled at by Sasha.

I laid on my bed, staring at the ceiling. My room was exactly how I had left it, and I had already taken advantage of the warm shower.
The light leaking in from window was slowly lessening.
Hopefully Rick would take these people in and it wouldn't be another dead end for them. I would be able just to drop them off and continue walking down the road to see what else there is for me.
I mindlessly played with my knotted wet hair until I fell asleep.

The loud pound of some one rapidly banging on my door woke me up. Sleepily I walked over to the door and swung it open.
The sunlight blinded my eyes to the point where I was squinting so much I couldn't see.
I placed my hand across my forehead to attempt to shade my eyes.
"Quick, grab what you need and meet up in the storage room, we need to leave now, a huge herd of walkers are about to take down the wall," a man, who I'm almost positive was Tyreese, blurted out and ran off before I could properly see.
I quickly turned back to my dark room to loop on my hip quiver and belt. I then placed my arrows in the quiver, put my slightly curly hair into a ponytail, and grasped my bow before running over towards the storage room, not even bothering to close the door behind me-the place was going down anyways.
