Chapter 1

Dear Diary,
My step mom picked me up from the airport. Wanna know how awkward that was? No? Well it was very awkward. My mom just stared at her and gave me the biggest hug and kiss, telling me to call her every now and then and that she loved and would miss me before standing straight, glaring at my step mom again and strutting off like the diva that she is.
I shrugged the shoulders because what the hell else was I supposed to do?! I'm not a superhero, although you've never seen the black widow and I in the same room. (Wink wink)

My father's house is huge! I thought my house was big my dad defiantly outdid my mom here. I'm here alone because my mom had to catch her connecting flight and my brother left a note saying that he was at a "friend's" house. My room is bigger than my room back home. All of my things from my room are here. Even Max has a room inside my room. He's currently sleeping in his bed. That Traitor. I might as well go explore this "castle" some more. So this is all for now.

Peace, Love and Chicken Grease.

Sammy

I locked my diary away because if my brother catches it he will be highly upset about the things that are written about him. HEE HEE! Being here alone knowing that someone will be home soon makes me feel happy because if I was at my house and my mother had left I would have been lonely. Yea the live in maids would be there but it's not the same as knowing that family will be coming home to you in the evening.

I came across a room that said Library. Really? Last time I checked my father doesn't even like reading. It must be for Melissa, my step-mom, because my father has never read a book to me. I should probably ask about that. The spiral staircase made me dizzy and the checkered floor gives me a headache.

I was looking for the kitchen when I heard the door open and some loud manly voices. That had to be my brother and whoever he decided to bring to the house. Following the voices I ended up outside in front of the biggest pool I have ever seen. My brother had his back turned to me and in front of him was the boy from the plane. Staring at him he looked so familiar like I've seen him before the plane ride here. When his eyes caught mine my brother stopped talking and finally turned around. His eyes went wide like if he was surprised to see me.

"Sam!" He ran up to me and wrapped his arms around me. It was getting hard to breathe not that he noticed at all.

"CANT. BREATHE!" He let go laughing. "Thanks, good to see you too Avery. I really missed you." It was true I did miss my big brother.

"Good cause you're stuck with me. Oh and I guess you remember Jeremy. Hey we are going to the beach for a bonfire, are you in? It's a great way to meet the people here besides there's someone that I want you to meet."

"Yea I guess. It's better than staying here. When is Dad coming back anyway?"

"I don't know, maybe this weekend. Why? I thought you didn't want to see him anyway." His eyebrow went up and it was like he could see right through me. He probably could that loser!

"I was only asking. Are we leaving yet? I'm bored already and want to see the beach." I wanted to see the beach but I also wanted to change the subject. I don't really like talking about Dad unless it's to my Diary because it doesn't talk back and won't judge me.

I followed both my brother and his friend down to the beach. It's weird that Jeremy hasn't said a word to me since we got off the plane (not that it bothers me, okay well maybe a little). From a distance everyone on the beach looked like little ants until we got closer. I didn't realize that there were going to be so many people here. Avery never really said what it was that they were really doing here. I wonder who it is that he wants me to meet. If it's a girl then she will never be worthy because I don't think that anyone is good enough for my brother. He may be a pain in the ass sometimes but so am I and he feels the same about me, He's even told me a few times that if I ever get a boyfriend and he gets to meet him that hes going to tell him that he's not good enough for me and that I can do better. Good thing I'm not looking for a boyfriend.

"Sam, do you want something to drink? You can have your first beer just because your b-day is coming up soon." Avery held out a bottle to me and waited for my response. Was he serious? Did he really think that this would be my first?

"Sure" I took the bottle from him and chugged the entire thing. It tasted sour and it was extremely cold. I don't know what angered me so much but I just didn't know who to take it out on. The look on his face was priceless and so worth it. "I never said it was my first." I handed him back the bottle and walked to the ocean. The water was surprisingly warm but it still felt good on my feet. Closing my eyes I stood there for a moment until I felt someone's presence behind me. I wasn't going to turn around or open my eyes; I was just hoping that they were going to walk away.

"Are you going to open your eyes yet or are you just going to stare at your eyelids for the rest of the night?" Oh now he speaks right? With a sigh I turned around and opened my eyes.

"Does it bother you that I would rather be here then with you and my brother?"

"Maybe, but I came to tell you that your brother wants to introduce you to someone. Unless you don't want to and I understand that if you don't. I don't like the girl very much myself." He looked towards my brother and their friends. He had his arm around a blonde and they were laughing. Jealousy surged through me like it was my own blood.

"No I don't want to meet her but if it will make my brother happy then yea. But Im going home after I really don't feel like being here."

"Sure I'll take you back. I'm spending the night anyway. That way you can get to know my sister too, she might like you." We walked side by side to where my brother and his friends were all standing and talking. "Avery, I'm gonnah take your sister back to the house. She isn't feeling good and doesn't want to be a kill joy."

That idiot. Note to self: Put hot sauce in his cereal in the morning. My brother let go of the blonde and turned to me. "Sammy you ok? You don't have a fever."

"I'm just tired Ave. I don't want to be a 'kill joy' (I gave Jeremy a death glare for that one and he just shrugged) besides I know you would rather be here than at home."

"Well ok if that's what you want then I'll introduce you another time. When I get home we can watch your favorite movie and eat Caramel Cone Ice Cream. I still remember that's your fave too."

Well that went better than I thought it would. I gave him a hug and walked to catch up with Jeremy who was walking up the beach to the parking lot. I had to admit though the beach here was beautiful and so were the people. Not that I was looking anyway.

The ride home was fairly quiet but I was hoping that he would talk to me about anything. The house looks so creepy at night, as if nobody lived there. The inside was even more creepy. My room was the way I left it and Max was still sleeping. He looked so peaceful in his room. My dad really went all out for me on this one. I'm still not happy with him this isn't going to work. I went to take a shower and change into something more comfortable. After getting dressed I heard a knock on the door.

"It's open." Jeremy opened the door. He was dressed in a white t-shirt and basketball shorts. He looked even more handsome even in regular house clothes. Ughh, why couldn't my brother have ugly friends. "Can I help you?"

"Yea you can come watch a movie with me. My sister went out with her friends and won't be back till tomorrow."

"Uh sure. As long as it's not some sappy love story then I'm in." I hate cheesy movies that are going to be so predictable.

"Wow well you're the first girl to ever say that."

"I'm not most girls"

"Yea I've noticed." He mumbles under his breath. I heard every word though and it sparked something in me that I've never felt before.
