Jessica's POV

(Just an FYI there are a few swear words in this chapter so be ready i guess.)

I woke up from the deep dream I just had. Still in a daze I stood up only to fall again.

"Ouch." I said falling back onto my bed rubbing my foot. That's when it hit me....

***FLASHBACK***

I took in a deep breath.

"C'mon Jess, you can do this." I limped up the steps of my creaky old house. I opened the door to see a quiet house.

"Ah." I breathed smiling to see my parentless house. I walked into the kitchen to grab a snack and ran downstairs to the basement. When I opened my door I dropped my bookbag on the cold concrete floor, and sat on my bed.

After starting my homework, I heard the front door slam shut.

"Moms home." I sighed. "Yay."

"JESSICA!" Her voice rang through the house. I ran up the stairs to see a drunk mother.

"Yes ma'am?" I asked.

"Why is the house a mess?" She questioned letting her beer breath hit my face.

"I'm sorry ma'am." I replied stepping back.

"You're sure as hell is sorry. Start cleaning." She said almost pushing me down the stairs.

After I finished cleaning the house I turned to see a passed out mother lying on the ground.

"You bitch." I said turning to walk downstairs. As I turned I ran square into my stepdad.

"What did you say?" He asked.

"Nothing sir." I said backing up and stepping on my mom, almost waking her.

"No. No I think you called your mother a... bitch?" He said stepping towards me.

"No si-" I was saying just as my father hit me with a beer bottle. I hit the ground with a thud.

"What the hell is going on Tom?" My mother asked, stepping over my bruised body.

"Greta, your daughter called you a bitch." He said.

"Oh really? I'll show you who the bitch is!"

I tried standing but, I was pushed down by my father's foot. All I could hear was,

"Bitch" "ugly whore" "Why were YOU brought into the world?" "worthless piece of shit" And everything went black.

***FLASHBACK***

I was abused last night, just like the night before last night, and all the nights last week...

But that didn't matter because I had to get ready for my first day at Waterdell High School. There was one person I was hoping not to see today...
