Gone

Chloe's POV

I paced up and down the hall. Biting my nails I didn't hear the loud beeps of the other paitents heart monitors.

"Chloe." The nurse said, "Jessica is ready to see you."

I walked into the white room to see a blonde pail girl sitting on the even whiter bed. She glanced up to see me and then looked back down at her thumbs.

"May we be alone?" I asked. The nurse nodded understandingly and left.

We sat in an awkward silence for what seemed like an enternity.

"Chloe." Jessica whispered.

I looked up to see her face bright red.

"Yeah?" I answered.

"I'm.....I'm glad you're here. I don't have any friends, so it's great to have the most popular girl sitting at the foot of my bed." She smiled.

"Hey I was the one who has hated you forever and so I owe you one." I replied returning a smile. "But I do have to ask... I didn't hit that hard...right?"

"No I jus-" At that moment a man and woman swung open the door.

"JESSICA!" The man yelled, " WHY ARE YOU IN HERE?"

The woman walked over to me and shouted, "AND WHO IS THIS?" She yanked me by my hair and threw me out of the room and slammed the door.

I put my ear to the door to here shouting back and fourth. I turned to walk down the hall, I did not want to be in the middle of that.
