As soon as they bid farewell to Uncle and Aunty Lan, Tian Jiao unrolled the continent map that Aunty Lan bought for them. When he scanned the map while comparing the distances between Shu village and their destination: Chang'an. Tian Jiao frowned when he saw how far they are apart, it was going to be troublesome to get there if they did not have a caravan to follow due to the large distance and the bandits along the journey.
Tian Jiao took out the copper coins Uncle Lan had given them, it was too little to hire bodyguards or pay merchants to bring them along. Biting his lower lip as he sank into deep thought, thinking of any possible other ways to get there. His little sister, seeing how anxious her brother is, she tugged on his sleeve, waking him from his train of thoughts.
"What is it? I'm thinking about how we are going to get there." said Tian Jiao slightly annoyed.
"Big brother, can't we just ask someone to bring us there?" asked Xiao Yue with a tilt of her head as she didn't understand why her brother was thinking so deeply into something so easy.
"Uhhh, ok?!" answered Tian Jiao completely bewildered by his sister's idea but found it made some sense. Though, he doubt that anyone would be so kindhearted to protect them along such a long journey.
"But big brother, where are we going to go first?" asked Xiao Yue as she understands that no one from such rural village would have enough money to hire a caravan so they could not ask for a ride here. So they would have to go somewhere more developed, then ask for a ride.
"To Weicang first." replied Tian Jiao. Weicang is the closest stop to their village and the most bustling place around their village. So anyone with a sane mind would go there first.
But who knew an event at Weicang would change the siblings life forever.
