Felix softly pulled free of Brooklyn, his eyes growing with disbelief and awe. He stood just in front of her for a while before a strong breeze blew through the little shack, blowing Felix's frizzy hair over his eyes. Felix shook his head and brushed his brown locks over his forehead. The Hypogriff turned its gaze to Felix,
"Felix, you wait another year, then is your time, for you must be the minimum of 13 years to attend." The creature announced clearly.
Felix sighed and put both his hands behind his back, stepping back slightly and letting his eyes half shut of dissapointment. He didn't want to wait another year, it seemed to long, to far away, he felt like he had to go now.
The hypogriff turned back to Brooklyn
"Yes, it is me, Mathious. Now get on my back, we need to leave" Mathious explained clearly and slowly, lowering his body so that Brooklyn would be able to mount him without trouble. Brooklyn looked at Felix and broke the smile across her face,
"What about Felix, what do you mean he can't come, he's my brother! I can't leave him behind!" She exclaimed displeased brushing dark purple strands of hair to the side of her plae face. Mathious raised his head slightly
"Felix isn't ready, he will be fine by himself, he's grown up now. He will manage without you. You'll be seeing him again before you can say 'Pickled onions with a raspberry tart and a kiss of love from deep in the heart', don't worry about him. If you worry you will ruin your memory's, have a good time." Mathious flickered his look inbetween the two chrildren, then back at Brooklyn.
"Are you sure.. Felix, will you?" Brooklyn gazed at Felix curiously and open hearted.
"Of course I will, what he said, don't ruin a good memory" Felix gave her a soft smile, his dusty eyes shimmering in the sunlight.
"Okay then, if you say so. I'll see you next year.. I guess.." Brooklyn looked at the floor then shot Felix one last warm beam before turning to Mathious and climbing onto his back awkwardly.
"I'm ready" she mumbled just loud enough for them to hear.
"Bye Felix.." Her heart felt like it was paper being scrunched up and burned with a load of other useless junk. She lightened up a bit and gripped tight onto the soft feathers.
Mathious stood up properly and without hesitation, charged up and out of the window, extending his wings after falling 10 feet.
Brooklyn looked down, seeing nothing but a misty village, completely empty. It had been abandoned after an attack of boars, no one knows why they attacked. The boars were normally peaceful creatures, they'd obviously been hurt, or driven wild. But the damage they did... Our little shack like house was the last one standing yet it still looked like it would collapse any minute. The rest of the houses were cottages, quite a bot smaller. They'd all been burned down by the fire, that was before the boars. It was a terrible stormy night, lighting, thunder, rain, sky of clouds... Everyone was gathered in the old barn until a strike of yellow electricity had struck the thatched roof. The flames spread to every house and cottage that night, burnt them all down. But then there always the exception of our house. We had quite an advantage of living about a mile away from the rest of the houses.
There was a loud squawk from Mathious when Brooklyn looked back up and realised that they had been flying for 10 minutes now. She looked to the left and saw a humungous jungle, then to the right, a swamp that went on as far as the eye could see, and further. Then she looked ahead. Her face was stuck in awe and amazement, she was forcing herself to believe what she saw.
They were heading straight for a massively oversized red castle, it had 6 towers, 5 in the shape of a star on the outside, all topped with a white cone and black star. The tower in the middle was a bit taller than the others, and instead of a star on top of the cone, there was a massive, jet black raven. Mathious began flying lower and lower towards what seemed to be a river full of purple water, the river was either side of a long, wide, grassy bridge. The bridge headed straight towards the massive building with the river, both sides of it, also headed the same way. Brooklyn blinked 10 times then rubbed her eyes and opened them again, checking she wasn't dreaming. Of course she wasn't, if this was her dream, it wouldn't be so... So... Perfect...
A bunch of more hippogriffs came level with Mathious she looked at the 5 lined up on the right side, and then the 5 of them on the left. They were all the same colour, it would be almost impossible to tell them apart if you didn't take note of their eye colours. Brooklyn made eye contact with another small girl on the hypogriff next to her, she smiled softly then looked down at the ground below them. Brooklyn did the same and a broad smile of amazement took over her face. Below them, she could see swarms of horses and cheetahs headed for the castle, then behind them there were what seemed to be giant toads, all of which carrying a girl or a boy. Brooklyn looked back at the girl on the hypogriff next to her who pointed at the purple lake, huge water serpents were also headed for the castle, and also carrying someone. She let out a soft giggle and both the girls gazed at each other for a minute or two laughing, until the one that had pointed the serpents out stopped and said
"This is strange, and by the way, I'm Theodora, Theodora Staugust" giving Brooklyn a warm beam
"Yeah it is, and nice to meet you Theodora, my names Brooklyn Estrella. Is this your first time here aswell?" Brooklyn asked, returning her smile.
"Yeah, but my parents have been here. It's a rather odd place" Theodora said, taking her headband out of her shoulder lengthed red hair and repositioning it further back.
"Certainly looks odd, but still absolutely amazing!" Brooklyn exclaimed excitedly, admiring Theodora's hazel brown eyes.
