Why I love it: It was the end of the hellish year 2014, two months after my almost suicide attempt, and a short month before my 18th birthday, and my me and my siblings were at a Christmas party in the village where we all grew up. My new boyfriend was there as well, and we had such a good time, drinking and talking and dancing. Back then, I wasn't much of a dancer, but I got the hang of it due to my new boyfriend who was super into 60's music like Frank Sinatra, and he taught me swing. This was the night I fell in love for the first time, that night, on that dance floor. It was super late and people had started to clear out. My boyfriend and I were the last ones on the dance floor, and this was the last song of the night. My mom was standing in the hall waiting for us, just watching us dance.
When the song worked itself up to the last chorus, my boyfriend lifted me up high and kissed me passionately. I felt the rush of someone so, so deeply in love, and every second of it was heaven. I knew right then that I had never really been in love until this very moment.

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on...

Strangers waitin', up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

Workin' hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on...

Strangers waitin', up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searchin' in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hidin', somewhere in the night

(3x)
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight people
