My favorite sorts of days at Hogwarts were the fall ones that Cho, Cedric, and I spent on the Quidditch pitch. After our classes, in the late afternoons, we would meet and go flying. It was always a little cold, but I thought it was perfect for playing. Being in our fourth year, we were all on our own house Quidditch teams; Cedric and Cho were the seekers for Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, and I was a chaser for Gryffindor.

My friends always used to joke about how I was only on the team because of my brother, but we all knew I was one of the most talented on the team. Hell, I might have been one of the best in the school. Not that they'd admit it.

"Did you hear about the first match of the season?" Cho asked as we settled on the pitch. We had just gone flying, passing the ball around. It was good practice as a chaser.

I laughed, "Oh, the one with the Slytherins. What about it?"

"Well," Cho continued, "It's against the Hufflepuffs now. Apparently their seeker complained about a broken arm."

I'd heard about that from Harry. Draco Malfoy decided to approach a hippogriff, and it didn't end well. Harry had phrased it more as, "The bloody git is being a baby."

Harry and Draco didn't get along.

Cedric's face turned white, "What do you mean? Why didn't I know about this!"

Of course, he was the new Hufflepuff team captain, and my brother didn't like it one bit. Oliver Wood, my brother, was the captain for the Gryffindor team, and whenever he saw Cedric and I talking, he was sure that I was selling out the team. Granted, Cedric and I had been friends before he was captain, and before I was on the Gryffindor team, but Oliver liked to overlook that part.

"I'm pretty sure that Malfoy just faked it so Slytherin wouldn't have to play in the storm."

The Slytherins, of all the houses, would be the ones to do that. And Hufflepuff, of all the houses, would be the ones to happily take their place. Not that Cedric was happy about it.

"The team has been practicing for months, Ced. You'll be great," Cho comforted.

"But not as great as us," I joked.

Gryffindor was currently the best team, in my opinion. In anyone's opinion, really. I was the best chaser in years, Oliver was an amazing keeper, and Harry was a prodigy. Not to mention the Weasley twins were some of the most well coordinated beaters. Probably had to do with a sort of twin telepathy.

"Right, because nobody could ever be as good as the mighty Gryffindors," He teased, rolling onto his side to look at me. Merlin, I could sink right into his eyes when he did that. "But really, if I don't win, your brother'll give me shit about it for the rest of my life."

Why should he care about what my brother thinks?

Cho laughed, "Oh, shut up about that. Not everybody has to like you, Golden Boy."
