I was not the sort of student to get drunk on a school night with a bunch of Gryffindors.
But Ginny was going, so of course I had to go along with her. I wasn't morally against it, or anything. I just had the common knowledge of just how out-of-hand these Gryffindor parties could get.
"It's just going to be a few of us," insisted Ginny, which I found very hard to believe. "Besides, you're the only non-Gryffindor getting an invitation. It's a very high honor you know."
And, long story short, I'd ended up sneaking into the Gryffindor common room, knowing exactly what was about to happen, and that there was absolutely no way to avoid it with Ginny like this.
But it seemed that I was at least wanted, because the moment I walked in, a cheer of Y/N!'s erupted from a crowd of already-tipsy group. At the front of which, was Fred Weasley. And George, of course, because they went everywhere together, but it was Fred who always captured my mind.
"We're playing a game of truth or dare to start. Slytherin style," Ginny whispered to me. It was good she was there, for emotional support, because something about the way she said "to start" made me very nervous about the rest of the night.
"Alright," Harry shouted. I was surprised he was here, "Everybody get in a circle. Pour the firewhiskey."
Ginny placed a glass in front of me, which was mostly filled. I'd had firewhiskey before, and I didn't hate it, but I was beginning to wish that my glass was filled with pumpkin juice instead.
Then Harry went around and tipped a drop of veritaserum into our glasses. Not enough for a full dose, but just enough that we'd be compelled to tell the truth.
"I'll start."
It was Ginny who was talking now. Somehow, she had a certain commanding presence over the group. Considering it was only Harry, Ron, Hermione (with reluctance, I'll wager), Dean, Seamus, Angelina, Katie, Alicia, and the twins, I wasn't too concerned about what sort of questions would be asked.
Well, I was really only concerned with the twins. They were pure mischief, and in a bloody pretty package. Especially Fred.
"It'll have to be Dean. Truth or dare?"
Dean chose dare, and ended up trying to get up the steps to the girl's dormitory. He, of course, didn't make it halfway up before the whole thing turned into a slide and he fell on his arse. Probably knew it was going to happen anyway, but he didn't have that much of a choice. We all had a good laugh about it.
