A/N:

So...it's been a year since I last posted, but I guess now this stuff is on TikTok so I'm writing again. This is gonna be a 3 part series or more I think.

I feel like it all started when I had the sudden desire, my fourth year, to get a boyfriend. The way that Lavender Brown seemed to talk about boys made me feel like I was missing out on something great. Everybody in my year, particularly with the abundance of new students, seemed to be going out on dates, obsessing over other people as if they had caught some disease.

In the past, I'd been reluctant to date. Draco was my best friend besides May, and I didn't need a person to parade around with to pretend that I was happy.

But this year, I was trying to keep an open mind. I hadn't had a boyfriend in my entire time at Hogwarts (besides the one time I went to Hogsmeade with Dean Thomas last year, which I don't count), and I figured that it must be enlightening in some way, with how excited my peers' hushed voices were.

I brought up the subject to Draco, just to see what his opinion was on the whole thing.

"Malfoy."

Sometimes he would work in the potions room when he was bored, just to experiment with things. I would help out as his assistant. Really, I couldn't do shit with potions.

At the moment, he was busy measuring some thing with scales. I was perched across the room on one of the empty desks. I had been trying to read over my History of Magic parchment, but the question was lingering too much in my mind.

"Mm?"

He would do that a lot; just sort of half respond.

"Can I ask you something?"

Draco nodded.

"Have you ever been in love?" I asked.

"Do we have to be talking about this while I'm working on potions."

I grinned, "You didn't answer my question."

He rolled his eyes.

"Do you really want to know the answer?"

"Yes."

"Yes," He replied sternly. "I have been in love."

Draco was still working.

"That's your answer?" I protested.

"Mhm."

"And I don't get any more? Don't get to know who it is?"

A faint smirk graced his face, and he looked up at me, "Nope."

He let the word linger in the air before he went back to his work, the room falling quiet to the dungeon's faint noise.
