April 2, 2000
Dear Ary,
I don't know how would I tell you this but I'm so happy today! Akala ko hindi ko na makikita yong batang babae, pero nagkakamali lang pala ako. Even though I'm grounded, sinamahan ako ni mommy maglaro sa labas kasama ang nakababata kong kapatid.
Pumunta kami sa park, it's weekend so there are many kids and adult around the park. Holding my sisters hand, hinatid ko siya sa swing because she wanted to try it. Nasa likod namin si Mommy at binabantayan kaming dalawa. My sister was excited nang malapit na kami sa swing. She run so I follow her. Kaagad ko siyang binuhat at inupo siya sa swing. She's smiling from ear to ear. My sister was really cute.
From her behind, I gently push the swing to give a little force. Pinapanood kaming dalawa ni Mommy, she's smiling. Tuwang-tuwa ang kapatid ko habang dinuduyan siya. She told to push harder but I don't agree. I just added at little more force to look like at push her a little harder.
My mom called and pointed someone not far from where we are. She pointed a little girl who's on a see saw with her father, I think? Tinigil ko ang pagduyan sa kapatid ko at pinakatitigan ang batang babaeng yon. She's somewhat familiar.
Later on, I realize that she's the little girl na kasama ko nong isang araw. I thought I would never see her again, but here she is now. I can see her clearly.
She wearing a rosy pink dress matching with her pink sandals. Nakalugay ang buhok niya yet she's wearing a headband that looks like a ribbon. She's smiling and giggling while riding the see saw.
Balak ko sana siyang puntahan kaso mukhang paalis na sila kasama ang tatay niya. But I saw them approaching a woman that looks like the little girl. They sat on a picnic blanket near a tree.
Akala ko aalis sila. Nakahinga ako ng maluwag because of that. I asked my mom if I could approach them. She nodded so I smiled at her. Sinama ko ang kapatid ko para maipakilala ko rin siya.
Nang malapit ako sa kanila, her mother noticed me. She waved at me and smiled sweetly. Nakita rin ako ng batang babae. Napatakbo kaagad siya sa'kin and I didn't except that she will hug me. I was shocked but later on I hug her back.
She was happy to see me. I could see it in her eyes. She was asking what I am doing in the park so I answered her. I told her that I wanted to play with my sister. That's when the time she noticed my sister. They started introducing each other and start chit-chatting. I overheard their conversion, nalaman ko na rin ang pangalan niya. Her name is Kath. Well, her name really suites her.
Hindi na nila ako pinansin. Mukhang nakalimutan nila akong nasa tabi nila ako. Pinanood ko na lang silang magkwentuhang dalawa. Nagkaayaan silang dalawa na maglaro sa may see saw. Sumama ako sa kanila dahil hindi nila ako napansin. I pouted while following them. It looks like they are really close already that they have forgotten about me.
And finally, they noticed me. They were calling me to join them. Inalalayan ko silang parehas makasakay ng see saw. Pinanood ko lang silang dalawang tumawa and giggling each other, which made me smile also. They look cute together.
Nang matapos sila sa see saw ay inaya nila akong samahan sila sa may slide. Dahil hindi ako kasya sa slide because it's only for toddlers, I stayed beside the slide and waited for them. Naririnig ko ang tawanan nilang dalawa so I told them na wag silang maharot at mag-ingat sila.
Nauna nang magslide pababa ang kapatid ko, next will be Kath but I notice that she look scared. She told me that the slide is little bit high. Para mapanatag ang loob niya ay hindi siya matakot, pumunta ako sa paanan ng slide. I told her that I will catch her kaya doon ako pumwesto. She was hesitant at first. But when my sister cheer her that her brother will catch, she smiled. I told them to count one to three before sliding down.
Nagsimula na silang magbilang. Nang matapos na ang pagbibilang, she slide down. Her eyes was closed. I immediately catch her. She opened her eyes and stared at me. Natuwa siya dahil hindi na siya natakot. She was thankful that I did catch her and that she wasn't afraid anymore. Nagulat ako ng bigla niya akong halikan sa pisngi. Umalis na silang dalawa ng kapatid ko and tried the slide again, while me, nakatulala lang.
Napatayo ako habang hawak ang pisngi kung saan niya ako hinalikan. I know that it was nothing. She was just thankful dahil nawala na ang takot niya dahil sa'kin, but for me, it was something but I don't know how would I named that kind of feeling.
Napasulyap ako kay mommy at nakita niya akong namumula. Oo, nag-iinit ang pisngi ko dahil doon. She was smiling, and I don't know what is the meaning of that smile. I just shrugged it of and focus my attention on the two girls who are now sliding, magkasabay pa silang nagslide dalawa.
I would never forget this day. Finally, nalaman ko na ang pangalan niya and nakasama ko siya kahit saglit na panahon. And the good news is, there house is two blocks away from her house.
I can't wait to play with her kasama na ang kapatid ko. Surely my summer would be memorable this year.
