Life has always been full of contradictions and cruelty. Most kids think "Oh, I'm going wipe all evil out of the world!" But they don't know the true balance. The world needs both light and dark for anything to function. Due to this, we've all turned incredibly grey, moral wise, for god knows how long.
Taking a dash, I hear the gurgle from the beast. The body falls with a loud thump. Gravel digs into the unsuspecting flesh. Well, they went down quickly..
I whip my weapon, splattering the excess blood all over the brick alley. Sliding my blade back in it's case, I watch as the blood spills out of the man's mouth and injured neck. He's not even struggling anymore...good.
My eyes narrow in disgust. I go to walk away when I hear what suspiciously sounds like a gag. My eyes widen and my head whips around, finding nothing down the alleyway. My hand instinctively holds onto the handle of my katana.
"Who goes there?" I ask. I have to keep up my elegant persona. A small crunch echoes. "I know you're there. You can't hide any longer."
Slowly, but surely, a figure steps out from their corner. He raises his hands in surrender, hesitating with each step. He's either scared or planning something... I observe.
The night is covering his face and the tinted glasses really aren't helping either. An uneasy smirk grows on the man's face. I take in his suit clad self.
He is wearing a blazer, work pants and nice shoes. All of which, look expensive as hell. What kinda throws me off guard is that he's wearing a band t-shirt under his fancy clothes. AC/DC...nice taste in music. My lips quirk up at this new discovery.
"What's a frailed old man doing here? It's dangerous at night." I stir. His smile drops a bit at the "old man" comment but then proceeds to raise a confident smirk. He seems rather full of himself...
"Oh, you don't need to worry about me. Just stopping by, thinking I might say 'Hi'. Why don't we go down to a bar a couple blocks away from here? I've heard they have the best buffalo wings in the state."
A gasp manages to escape my lips. My eyes widen for a second time under my tinted goggles. "What is Tony Stark doing in a place like this? If you are seeking trouble, you've come to the wrong place. No Alien invasions here."
Tony Stark just laughs at me. "I'm guessing this is the most that anyone has ever heard you talk. Well, don't wear my name out."
"What are you here for?" I hiss. My voice practically drips venom.
"Woah, calm your ass down. I've just been told by my boss to take you to him alive. I won't have to use force unless you push me to." His smile turns into a scowl.
"You see, I'm not a fan of killers and would have you locked away if I could, but my boss demands to see you."
"Who's your boss?"
"That is confidential at the moment. If you come with us, you'll get to meet him."
My scowl begins to grow as well.
"Then what happens if I refuse?"
"You'll be captured. All your efforts to escape will have been for nothing." He responds, smugly.
A sigh leaves my lips and my fighting stance goes lack.
"I won't bother to put up a fight. It would be useless. I have one condition though."
My voice rains stability and professionalism.
Tony Stark trembled a bit at the tone of my voice. His eyes narrow, suspicion glistening.
"It depends on what it is."
Static fills my very being.
"Helloooo? Are you the-"
"I want protection." I mumble out.
"Protection? From what? Why do you need protection?" He asks in confusion.
"I don't need any protection. I want everyone at Olive Walk Orphanage to be protected and taken care of. That means no robbers, burglars, sexual predators, killers, assaults of any kind, etc."
Tony Stark takes a step back in surprise.
"I-is that it?"
I just nod in confirmation.
"But that's obsurd! What are you hiding there?! I'm sure you know I'm not play-" but he didn't get to finish when a black man with an eye patch and leather coat walked from seemingly nowhere.
What the fuck?! I go back into my fighting stance, ready to mutilate my attacker.
"That's enough, Tony."
