When I was growing up
It was cat mat sat
Or 1+1=2
It doesn't get simpler than that
But it's what you don't learn
That matters the most
Like the rights of a human
Or how to move coast to coast
Now there's standards to learn
More specifically common core
Because of it we're learning pointless things
Like the area of El Salvador
And as Americans we wonder
Why our generation sucks
But it's because we spent elementary
Counting firetrucks
And instead of preparing
For nuclear war
Everyone made us
Do some type of chore
And if you wanna be in the army
You can't train until highschool
But what if a war breaks out
Before you're even in school
