Who Knew?

Chapter Six

"Hi mama, hi papa!!" I said with a huge grin as I talked to my parents via Skype.

Yeah, you're probably wondering, "Woah aren't her parents like old? What are they doing with skype?" but guys I really do miss my parents and I miss seeing their faces sometimes so I rather communicate this way and they seem to know how to operate it  so why the hell not!? Anyways...

My dad took over the camera and said, "Hey Evey poo" which was his nick name for me so I  blushed like hella hard.

"How is work going? With the temporary boss and such? Everything going good? Is he treating you bad? Are y—-"

"DADDY!" I semi yelled to get his attention and to cut off his rambling.

"I'm fine..work is good, and no he isn't treating me bad......." I trailed off and continued with, "he's actually kinda sorta really nice" I said with a small smile.

He looked relieved to hear the good news and my mom snatched back the laptop from my dad and had the laptop screen all the way back while hovering over the camera so all I was seeing were her nostril tunnels.

"Mommy, put down the screen" I said with a small giggle because she really is awkward with these kinda things but whatevs.

"Ah, yes" she said as she properly situated the laptop.

She then gave me a look and out of the blue asked, "So, he's hot isn't he?"

I was so taken back with her bluntness that I just stared back at her with wide eyes and stammered out a reply but I don't even know if it was english because my mom knows me too damn well and I can't handle the pressure with follow up questions.

"Well..he's you know..alright looking.." I rambled off with a forced grin.

Mom laughed and responded every so truthfully, "Oh, okay I've got my answer so he is INDEED hot."

In the background I heard a faint noise asking my mom if she revealed the good news yet and before I knew it both of my parent's faces were in view with huge yet creepy looking grins.

"Sooooo..." my dad started off, "we've got a surprise for you" he finished.

"WE'RE COMING IN A FEW DAYS. THAT'S RIGHT WE'RE COMING TO VISIT OUR LOVING DAUGHTER BECAUSE OUR DEAR BOSS THINKS THAT WE WORK OUR ASSES TOO MUCH AND NEED A LITTLE BREAK SO MAKE ROOM!" my mom yelled causing me to flinch back all the friggen away from my laptop as possible but this, this was great news so I didn't even care.

Tears started to form in my eyes and I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. My parents sacrificed a lot for me and made sure I was always properly attired ands provided with all necessities for life so them being able to spend a few days with me is just God's gift from above.

"...This is awesome! I can't waittttt but hey I got to talk to yal later going out for lunch with some of the crew" I said after blowing them a kiss and closing the chat.

Like every month, most of us at The Hendrickson's Business Industry plan a lunch date so that we can all just get to mingle and spend time with each other and besides hey, a day off, yas.

After showering and washing my hair, I started looking for an outfit and came across a soft, cute criss-cross back floral dress and paired that with some nude flats and my favorite necklace being a heart pendant given to me by my beloved Grandfather. Pleased with my appearance I applied some red lipstick and grabbed my purse and keys.
