Markus, North, Simon and Josh were in the control room, looking concerned.

“We’re short on blue blood and biocomponents, our wounded are shutting down and there’s nothing we can do!” Josh said frustrated.

“President Warren is saying we’re a threat to national security and need to be exterminated,” Simon stated timidly.

“Humans are conducting raids in all the big cities, and they’re taking androids to camps to destroy them!” North said.

“It’s a disaster, they’re slaughtering our people!” Simon cried while clasping his hands.

“It’s all our fault! This never would’ve happened if we’d just stayed quiet!” Josh yelled to Markus.

“We couldn’t have just suffered in silence, they’re killing us! Nothing is going to justify that,” Markus replied. He turned his head to North who was looking at the ground in thought. Is she okay? Markus was going to ask her is she was alright but Josh interrupted him.

“What’s the point of being free? If no one is left alive.”

“Humans enslaved us, I’ll never regret standing up to that!” Markus retorted as he walked a step closer to him.

“We shouldn’t forget who our enemies are, we can’t fight among ourselves,” Simon interrupted, probably preventing an argument.

“He’s right, all that matters now is what we do next, Markus?” North turned to him. Dialogue definitely.

“Dialogue. It is the only way… I will go alone, try to talk to them one last time,” Markus announced. North shook her head she wanted to say something but stopped herself from saying so. Markus gazed at North wondering what she was going to say, but he broke his gaze from her when Simon put a hand on his shoulder.

“J-just come back,” Simon said then he walked out of the control room. Josh, then walked up to Markus.
“They need to realise how much they’re hurting us, find the right words and they’ll listen,” Josh stated then he walked out. It was just Markus and North. The two stared at each other awkwardly for a few seconds until Markus turned around and placed his hands on the control panel.

“Is this what we dreamed of?” Markus asked with a sad tone.

“They can’t stop what we’ve started. Since you’ve been here you’ve given us hope, you’ve-... nevermind,” North mumbled on the last part. Markus turned around to her, what was she going to say?  They stared at each other in silence, until North spoke. “Today, a deviant arrived in Jericho and he told me that he stole a truck transporting radioactive cobalt…,” North started as she walked closer to him, “He said that he abandoned the truck somewhere in Detroit and rigged it to explode. I convinced him not to do it, and to give me the detonator,” North grabbed the detonator from her back pocket and held it towards Markus, they were extremely close now.

“A dirty bomb,” Markus whispered as he looked into North’s glossy eyes.

“W-we can’t lose this war Markus. If humans overcome us our people will disappear forever. This might be our only chance to survive if things go wrong,” North stated. We shouldn’t be like them, there are other ways.

“We shouldn’t become like them North, we can gain our freedom by other means.”

“I hope your right,” she replied.

After that he put his hand over hers, that had the detonator in it, and gently put it down. He didn’t let go of her hand though, their hands were touching for a few seconds. Markus would’ve kissed her right there and then, until North pulled her hand back.

“I-I’ll go join the others,” she stuttered as she started to walk out. I can’t just let her go.

“Wait, North!” Markus called out to her and grabbed her hand. She stopped in her tracks and turned back to him. “Just, b-be safe okay? I don’t wanna lose you,” Markus stated. North cracked a small smile then replied.
“I don’t wanna lose you either.”  Markus pulled her into an embrace, North reluctantly hugged him back, she felt like she didn’t deserve it... or him. She was the first one to pull away, they stared at each other for a few seconds before North left. Why can’t I stop loving her?

As North was outside, Connor snuck up on her and put a gun to her head with the other hand over her mouth. (A/N: I really hoped this would happen)

“Speak, and I’ll shoot,” Connor threatened. She started to hyperventilate in panic. He pulled he in the control room still with a gun to her head. “My mission is to take you alive,” Connor started. Markus turned around and gasped when he saw North with a gun at her head, she started to cry. N-North!? “But I won’t hesitate to shoot if you give me no choice,” Connor put the gun closer to her head.

I can’t lose her.
