❝𝑴𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔❞

 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐋𝐋 to Newt did not go smoothly at all. Newt had freaked out as soon as Eurydice explained it to him and told her she could not go around them anymore. She got angry and snapped that she wasn't a kid that he could control. Eurydice and Newt fought like cats and dogs which confused Kaz, he had no clue of anything that was happening. The next few days at school, Alice and Jasper had to keep Eurydice from stabbing her brother which they knew she could very easily do. Especially when Rosalie found Katoptris in her bookbag and freaked. Rosalie and the rest of the Cullen's had a long talk with her at lunch about not stabbing people and committing a crime. But all Eurydice could do was shrug and say tell it to the monsters. Newt was not at all happy but he'd cave eventually and Eurydice knew that. He always did when it came to Eurydice. After all, she was his twin.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 looked frumious as she stood in front of her brother. The two standing in the middle of the Kane and Lightwood kitchen. Steel is eyes glaring daggers into brown ones. Newt stood with his arms crossed tightly while the girl's fist rested on the table as she leaned over.

"You can't control me." Eurydice growled out. "It is my choice. They are not bad. I never care about my feelings and now I do and you won't let me!" She yelled.

"They are vampires, Eurydice! They will kill you!" Newt shrieked as he threw his hands up.

Eurydice's glare hardened. "They won't! You know nothing about them. I took the risk of getting close and we both know I can hold my own." She snapped before she shadow traveled out of the home.

"Eurydice Lyre Kane!" Newt yelled before sighing. "You are going to get yourself killed sis."

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 Saturday evening, the week of Christmas holidays. Kaz and Newt went out to spend their annual bro day together leaving Eurydice alone. The air was thick. Something hasn't seemed right all day. Yet Eurydice never paid any mind to it. Eurydice stood in the shower as her palms pressed against the cool and wet tile of the shower. Extremely hot water beading down her body. Her curly hair now straight and weighed down by the water that had managed to capture it. The usual brown hair was now nearly black. Water droplets dripped from her lips as she let out a sigh. Eurydice looked at her black fingertips as she whispered to the shadows to watch her brother. She pulled back the curtain of the shower after turning the knob and cutting the water off. Grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her nude body. She squeezed some of the water out of her hair before there was a knock on the bathroom door and as far as she knew, no one was home yet.

"Who is it?" Eurydice questioned her voice dark, she was not playing any games.

"Eurydice? It's just me and Jazz. He's in your living room." Alice's voice rang through the door, she seemed worried.

Eurydice furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Is everything alright?" She asked as she opened the door clutching the towel to her body.

"Get dressed." If Alice were alive Eurydice was sure she would have been beet red. "We need you out of the house."

"Okay..." Eurydice didn't dare question Alice as she pushed past the vampire and into her room.

𝐄𝐔𝐑𝐘𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐔𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐑 door but did not lock it. She knew about Alice's visions and how they worked. So, if one of them needed to get to her she would let them. She had yet to start dating but knew that she wanted too. Eurydice didn't want to ruin everything. The brunette went to her dresser and grabbed her bra and panties while picking out a pair of leggings and a t-shirt which she put on quickly. She grabbed her shoes and pulled her hair back when she noticed something out her window. A brief pair of red eyes locked with her steel blue ones but were gone before Eurydice could blink.

"Eurydice come on!" Alice said loudly as she opened the girl's door.

"Jeez Al. What if I wasn't fully dressed yet?" The girl questioned with a grumble as she turned to Alice.

"What were you looking at?" Alice asked raising her eyebrows

"Just a deer or something." Eurydice shrugged lying through her teeth.

"Text your brother and Kaz and tell them to stay away from the home for a bit. We are taking you to our house." Alice grabbed the girl's arm and dragged her into the living room.

"Will anyone tell me what's happening?" Eurydice asked as Jasper looked down at her.

Jasper sighed. "When we get you out of here."

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄 her wary. Eurydice had started texting Newt and Kaz as she was put into the Cullen's vehicle and driven away from her home. Katoptris in her left hand as she gripped it in case she needed to stab someone or something. She was not taking any chances. Kaz was still on the outside and knew nothing, Newt and Eurydice both hated it. Well more like despised it. They had to keep him out of it for his safety and that is what they kept reminding themselves.

"Eurydice, there are some nomads passing through, we just need to make sure they don't pick up on any of you." Alice hummed as she opened Eurydice's door. "So for the next few hours you are staying here."

"Oh." Eurydice mumbled under her breath as she stayed by Alice's side as Jasper nodded at the two. "Nomadic vampires, lovely."

"You always have some kind of comment." Jasper let out a low laugh before he noticed something. "Are you really bringing a knife?"

"I always have a dagger on me." Eurydice emphasized dagger as she spoke, "Protection from monsters. Not like they can hurt you anyway."
