Maerie "Mae" Melinda Moretti. Sister of Theodore Moretti. Daughter of Vanessa Greco and Benedetto "Ben" Moretti. They are quite possibly the most Italian people in the county, with a little Greek influence. Ben's parents came to America after they wedded when they were young. Vanessa's grandpa came from Greece, and her grandma came from Italy.
Theo and Mae are very much alike looks wise. Green blue eyes- some days their eyes are more green, some days more blue; natural brown hair, but Mae's is more blonde because she's dyed it a few times; of course a big Italian nose and a natural glowing tan.
Mae was born in on March 28th in 1989. She went to school in a town called Crete, Nebraska that's located just outside of Lincoln, Nebraska, which is where she went to college at. While she was at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she won a Breeland Award for a piece of writing. She also learned Latin and Ancient Greek at the school, and taught herself Italian and took Spanish and ASL in high school.
After college, she moved to Spain for two years to teach English to Spanish speaking high schoolers. She then drove to Italy for six months, working as an interpreter. She ventured to Greece for six months after being in Italy. She wrote for a newspaper and toured in Greece, and then traveled to Egypt for four months. Then she moved back into her childhood home with Vanessa and Ben. At her yearly check up in August, there was a rise of white blood cells in her blood test, she went in for a bone marrow test and was later diagnosed with Stage III Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. So, she permanently moved in with her parents and started treatment.
