Chapter 1 Trouble magnet

On a certain day, a pair of hedgehogs were fighting a massive robot like if it was a normal thing to do. It seemed natural to them, however, things were a bit different this time. This massive robot was actually a threat since it was highly powered with a chaos emerald. It was proving a challenge to destroy it single handed. They need to team up to combine their strength.

Sonic tried his trademark spin dash several time and Shadow also tried his chaos spear several times too, but it barely left a scratch on the robot. If this fight lasted any longer this would turn into a losing battle for the hedgehogs, specially Sonic as he was slowly wearing out and getting tired and tired...

Shadow was barely tired but needed the faker to out-power the robot so time was of the essence. Sonic tried to distract the massive robot while they came up with a plan to destroy it by running in circles all around it. Unfortunately, it hit Sonic and grabbed him with it's massive claws. It started to squeeze the life out of the blue hedgehog before it threw Sonic against the wall, making him cough bits of blood. Shadow yelled and quickly went to Sonic.

Shadow: *yelling* Sonic!!! Are you alright? C'mon wake up, answer me!

Everything was a blur to Sonic but he managed to get back to his senses.

Sonic: *injured* Ugh.... I'm fine. Don't worry about me, just go. I'll catch up...

Shadow: *nod* Right.

Shadow did his very best to keep the robot at bay until Sonic came back to his feet. In time, Sonic managed to get up and join Shadow in the fight. It seemed hopeless, any attack seems to be useless. Sonic came up with the idea to unleash an all out attack combining his spin dash with Shadow's chaos spear, hoping that it will destroy the robot in one hit.

Shadow approved the idea as it may be their only hope, the blue hedgehog started to charge his spin dash to his max capacity while Shadow charge it even further beyond by combining his chaos spears to it. Once ready, Sonic launch himself to the robot and hopefully end it.

The fierce attack went furiously fast at the massive robot and went right through it easily like it was a piece of paper. They made the robot to malfunction but it was still up. The hedgehog were relieved but quickly, the blue one became very alert and worried as soon as the robot initiated his self destruct sequence. A robot of it's size was a massive danger to them in that moment. But the blue hedgehog had to quickly think as he only had a few seconds left before the self destruct sequence was completed.

The robot was mainly aiming for the black hedgehog who was completely unaware of it. With just a few seconds, Sonic threw Shadow away to the floor and shield him from the attack. When Shadow realized what was happening it was already too late, the robot self destroyed itself with a massive blast. Everything turned white in an instant.

Everything was quiet yet very noisy, the surroundings were engulfed in flames and ruins. The black hedgehog regained his senses, he was barely injured, only a dislocated arm and a few scratches. He was desperately looking for his blue counterpart but he was nowhere to be seen, he yelled for him hoping that he'd respond back but no answer, not even a faint sound. Shadow looked around for him but nothing. He yelled at the top of his lungs countless time but nothing. The flames where consuming any fresh air left so he had to hurry.

After a few eternal minutes, Shadow went through some scrap metal that were likely to be from the robot. On the other side of that mountain of thrash was a blue figure laying on the ground still. Shadow's eyes widened and rushed to him.
