Everyone is special in their own way(A Gareki x oc Fanfic)

Ch1: The New Creature

Gareki's pov

I walked with Nai and Yogi, looking for something that had been seen in the forest near an old town. "How do we know it wasn't an animal that guy had seen?" I asked, stuffing my hands in my pockets.

"But what if its not. It could be something else" Yogi explained, looking excited. I just sighed. After a while, I saw something standing, watching us. I narrowed my eyes to get a better look and I'm pretty sure I saw horns.

"Gareki? What's wrong?" Yogi asked, turning to me. I didn't respond, only looked at what I saw. Suddenly it ran off as I turned to look at Yogi and Nai. "Something just ran that way" I told them, pointing in the direction it ran in before running after it.

"Gareki! Wait!" someone yelled as footsteps sounded in my direction. After running through the trees for a while, I came across an open field. In the middle of the field was a girl.

"Hey!" I yelled. She turned around to face me, looking startled. She had a pair of twisted horns that went down the side or her head like hair. She had small, pointy ears at the side of her head. Her eyes were fully coloured with one red eye and one purple eye. She had two thin tails with red and purple fur on the end.

"Who are you?" she asked, lokking nervous. I didn't say anything as Yogi and Nai caught up. "Who's that?" Nai asked.

She backed up, trying to put distance between us and herself. Yogi ran forward and grabbed her. "Let's take her back to the doc. I've never seen something like this" he explained.

"This is incredible" the old man stated, looking at his findings. "What is it?" Hirato asked, keeping a straight face. "From the tests, it seems that this girl is a species we thought had gone extinct" he explained, showing us a picture. A creature the size of a cat with the same features as the girl was in the picture.

"How did they go almost extinct?" Yogi asked. "Their horns are made of valuable minerals that can be used for many things. They were hunted to the point were they were assumed to be extinct" he explained.

"So what do you want us to do?" Hirato asked. "Keep an eye on her. She may be the last of her kind and we can't lose the opportunity to save the species" the old man explained.

"Alright. Yogi keep an eye on her" Hirato explained. "Why me?" Yogi complained. "Because I trust that you'll keep her safe. Maybe introduce her to Nai. They might get along" he explained.

"Fine" Yogi sighed, looking down. "Good" Hirato explained.
