I stood there with my hands trembling, my gun pointed strait at his head. Hands and arms firm, but not steady.
"Do it! Now, before he breaks the ropes! Do what I say, or you will be cast out, back to where you belong!"
But how could I? He was my best friend. We had been raised together, he was almost my brother. I had hears of the crimes he committed, but I had no belief he could've done those horrible terrible things. I can't kill him....I just can't!
"Alright Ms. Carter. You are finished now." Mr. Al Ghule said as he turned on his heel and began to walk away.
"Wait!" I called desperately. I couldn't go back, impossible. I had left that long ago, and I could never go back.
"Wait! Can I just ask one question? Please?" I said, knowing the answer already.
He turned back to face me with a stern look in his eye.
"A good Revvion would never ask a question. Questions get you killed, you should know that."
That struck a cord. It made me so angry, I turned and shot my gun without another thought, letting the bullet fly through his skull. It exited the other side with a slight 'clank' on the floor, as the man went limp in his ties.
"Well done, Ms. Carter. Welcome to the Revvelon. You may go to your bunker and wait until you are summoned for your first mission."
But what Mr. Al Ghule didn't know, was that that shot hadn't killed Stephen, it had killed me. I was going to die.
