"my my liam, you've been much sweeter now."

"i wasn't sweet in the past?" liam asked with a laugh. my mum shook her head and laughed also.

"you were quiet in the past. now, you're more open with everyone. it's a good thing, of course." she smiles. liam grins and stands up.

"well, ms. hill, rachel and i must get going to school. we wouldn't want to be late!" liam says and we leave the house. we walk to the school, side by side.

my mum was correct, though. liam was never this open with people. he was always shy and kept to himself most of the time. i guess something changed his mind.

as we were heading to the school, a group of girls, the crayola pack is what they were called, walked up to us. the leader of the pack, jet, stopped in front of me and i gave her a scowl.

“hill.” she says, smirking. odd.

“ashton.” i reply, glaring at her. liam gives one of jet's minions, lia, a small smile.

“what do you need?” i say, frowning. jet crosses her arms and gives me a devious smile.

“oh, nothing.” she pauses. “just your best friend.”

my eyes widen, as well as liam's. “um, why?” i say, getting furious.

“well, he is pretty cute.” she says and steps up to liam. she looks up at him and wraps her arms around his neck. liam gives me a 'help me now' look and i nod.

“well, sorry to burst your bubble, but he's taken.” i say, without thinking. liam looks at me like i'm psychotic. jet breaks loose off of him and takes her place again.

“with who?!” she demands. i look at him and he just stares off into space. i'm going to be killed after this.

“me.” i gulp.
