liam didnt bother talking to me for the rest of the day. i probably had ruined his life, considering i told the biggest gossiper in the school i was dating him. and she liked him.

i left the school building walking alone back home. he didn't come up behind me, like he usually does, and wraps me in a hug. i miss him already.

when i entered my house, my mum wasn't home. i walked into the kitchen to get a snack and found a note on the counter.

went to buy some things,

won't be back for a few hours

- mum xx.

well at least i hope there's food here. i looked through the cupboard and found nothing to eat. i groaned and sat at the kitchen table, getting my school work out to work on. i'm no bookworm, but i do prefer school over parties. parties are way too risky and can ruin your reputation instantly. my stomach growled and i sighed. i should ask liam if-

i can't do anything about it. what's done is done. i frowned and stared at my history assignment in front of me. i can't comcentrate. i keep thinking about liam.

i decided on calling him, but quickly regreted it when i dialed his number.

ring ring

“please don't pick up” i begged to myself.

ring ring

“actually, please pick up.” i say.

ring rin-

“hello?” the other line answers. it didn't sound like liam's voice.

“uh, hi. is liam there?” i ask.

“no, this is his sister, ruth.” she says. “rachel? is this you?”

“yes, ha. hi ruth.” i say. “do you have a clue where liam is? i need to talk to him.”

“he hasn't been home from school yet. he phoned me saying he went to your house.” she tells me. i stay silent for a moment. he told her that?

“th-thank you, ruth.” i say before hanging up.

he better not be at the damned school.
