Good Ending: Recovery

"Look, a shooting star! Sonic make a wish!"

"But Amy, my wish already came true!"

"Really? What was your wish?"

"I wished that you'd be given back to me, healthy as ever. And my wish was granted to me."

"Oh Sonic, you charmer." She leans on my shoulder as we look at the stars. It's been a month since her surgery and she's making a full recovery. She hasn't completely recovered yet, but she's getting there. She gets her moments of weakness where she'll just collapse out of nowhere, but I've been making sure to always be there to stop her fall. There was one time where she was cooking dinner for us when she collapsed and she unfortunately had a knife in her hand. When I caught her the knife cut my arm pretty bad. Apparently it cut real deep. She still feels bad for that but I tell her all the time it wasn't her fault. It was just unfortunate timing. I still have the scar. Sometimes I'll catch her staring at it or touching it gently, as if she's afraid she'll hurt me. It bothers me that she blames herself for what happened but, if I'm being honest, I'd feel the same way if it was the other way around.

She wraps her arms around me and pulls me down to the ground. It worried me a little because I thought she collapsed again. "Amy? You okay?"

"Relax hero, I just wanna lay down with you." She giggles at my concern and I giggle back at her response to it. I wrap an arm around her and press my face into hers. She strokes my quills and I sigh.

"Amy, have you been feeling better?"

"Feeling better? What do you mean?"

"I mean, ever since your surgery. Have you been feeling better? Any pain at all?"

"No I'm fine Sonic. Why do you ask?"

I blush a little, embarrassed to voice my concerns. "I just...don't want to lose you...again...forever."

She kisses my forehead and holds my hand. "I'll be okay Sonic. You worry too much. Come on, let's go home."

I pick her up and carry her home. She was feeling weak again so I had to carry her. When we got home I put her into bed and I lay down beside her. I hold her in my arms as we drift off to sleep.

I will never let you go again.
