Sonic's POV (and it will be Sonic's POV from this point forward)
--------------------------------------------------------------

I watched as the robot came to life. I watched as it tossed her around like a ragdoll and toyed with her. I watched as it made her bleed. And I hated it for everything it did to her.

"AMY! NOOOOOO!" The robot's built-in blade was driven into Amy's stomach as it crushed her in its hand. Her eyes widened in pain as she screamed in agony.

"AMY!" These damn robots were stopping me from saving her. With a newfound rage, I slice through them and make my way to Amy. I stop dead in my tracks as that machine tosses her onto her back and places a large, heavy piece of the ground on top of her, as if it were trying to stop me from saving her. I charge at it, enraged.

I was too late. I watched as it took off, Eggman following closely behind. I grit my teeth as a wave of irritation hits me. Then I hear it.

"S-Sonic..."

Amy!

I turn to face her and run to her side. "Amy! Hang on!" I try with all my power to lift the debris off of her. It was too heavy, but I refused to give up. Watching her lie motionless underneath it fueled me and I found new strength. I lift it off of her and look down at the damage done. My eyes widen in horror at what I see.

Cuts covered her body from her battle with the sack of bolts. Her fur and quills were matted with her blood. The wound to her stomach was worst of all. Her stomach was ripped apart. My hand touches the pool of blood surrounding her, startling me when I feel the sudden warmth and wetness of my glove. I look at it to see it soaking in her blood. I turn to face her and to my horror, her body was turning pale.

"Amy..? Amy! Are you still with me?"

"Sonic..? Y-you're here..."

"Yes, I'm here." I gently wrap my arm around her back as I lift her torso up. I hold her broken body close to me, feeling her life slipping away.

"I'm sorry Sonic...I failed you..." Tears fill my eyes when I hear her say that. She didn't fail me. I failed her.

"D-don't say that! You didn't fail me! Don't talk like that!"

"Sonic..." I feel her place her hand on my cheek. I can feel her weakness and I hold her hand in place. "No matter what happens...promise me...you will finish this..."

"I...I promise you I will finish what you started." I hold her hand up to my lips as I kiss it, unable to hold my tears back.

"I'm sorry...this is where my journey ends..." I feel my heart break in two. I can't stand to hear her talk like that. I can't stand the idea of her dying like this. She can't leave me here alone. She can't...

"No, no don't talk like that! I'm going to save you! I won't let you die!"

"Sonic...I love you...I will always...love you..." I feel her hand drop as her body grows heavy. Her labored breathing had mellowed out, and it scared the hell out of me.

"Amy? Amy! No...no you can't do this...you can't do this to me!"

I place my ear on her chest, hoping and praying to God that I'll hear a pulse. It was so faint I couldn't even tell it was there.

I was losing her.

I've never felt more afraid in my life. I lift her up as I stand up and I race out of the base, carrying her in my arms. I had to get to a hospital. I couldn't let her die. Not like this. Not my Amy.

"Amy, please hold on! Stay with me!" I press my face against hers as I cry. "You can't leave me like this!"

I carry her inside the closest hospital. The workers at the front desk could see the desperation in my eyes. I begged them to save her. I begged and I begged and I begged. They take her from me and lead her to the ER.

God don't take her away from me.
