Elizabeth's POV

I started slowly towards Table 5, looking to make sure that Jeremy really is gone. He is. Deep breath, Elizabeth. It's okay. You grew your hair out, covered your weird looking eye, and it's been a year. He won't recognize you.

(This is Elizabeth now)

"Elizabeth? Are you okay, you look stressed. Did someone bother you again?" I jumped when I saw that someone with blond hair in front of me. For a second I thought it was Jeremy, but then I blinked and realized it was Meliodas, not Jeremy. "Oh, Sir Meliodas! I'm fine just a bit busy, that's all." I smiled reassuringly, hoping that he wouldn't be suspicious. Luckily, he smiled and nodded. "If you have any trouble, come to me." I nodded and continued towards the Table of Doom.

"Alright, so you want Vanya Ale, you want Coors Light, and he wants apple cider?" They nodded. I sighed in relief as I walked away from the table. I had to spend five minutes memorizing what everyone wanted. Luckily for me, Jeremy didn't come back when I was struggling with everyone's order. I sank into the couch I'm sitting on in the employees' lounge and exhaled loudly. "Problem?" A voice asked. Opening my eyes, I saw that Diane is standing in front of me. "It's nothing, really."

"Oh?" She asked, sitting beside me. In the spur of the moment, I almost told Diane about Jeremy, but then swallowed back the words. Margaret had said that I would have trouble trusting people for a while yet. "The vibe of this place is just getting to me, that's all." Diane laughed, "Wait until you meet the tougher clients, that's when you'll really feel the vibe of this place." Suddenly, I heard a shout outside. "Hey! Why aren't our orders here yet!?" Diane rolled her eyes and stood up. "Here. I'll deal with those people." I smiled warmly at her. "Thanks, Diane."

She grinned at me. "Don't worry about it." Then she headed outside into the casino. I glanced at the mirror on the wall opposite the wall and slowly swept my bangs away from my eyes. Underneath my bangs, my eye glowed slightly. While one of my eyes are blue, the other one that I'm embarrassed to show is orange with a white triskele. I have no idea how one of my is weird looking, but ever since I left Jeremy, I grew my bangs so that it would cover that eye.

"Elizabeth, why didn't give Table 5 their orders?" I quickly swept my bangs back in place before answering. "But I asked Zaneri to give them their orders." Diane wrinkled her brows. "But Zaneri said before we started that she's leaving early today." All I felt was numbness. So that was her plan?! She knew... she knew that she would leave early so that was why she accepted.

"Elizabeth? Are you okay? You don't look that good." I gulped and smiled shakily. "I'll go right away," I said, avoiding her question. I pushed opened the door leading to the casino. I grabbed the orders and walked shakily towards Table 5. My legs felt like lead. When I got close to the table, I felt that I couldn't breathe. But I still took a deep breath and said to myself. Be brave, Elizabeth. I hid my face under my bangs and took a deep breath. Keeping my voice low I muttered. "Here are your orders," and turned around to leave. But Jeremy's voice called out. "Hey wait... you look familiar." I kept my back to them and whispered in a low voice. "Sorry, I don't know what you're talking about." I hoped he would just leave me alone after that because it was getting harder to control my breathing rate and heartbeats. "Elizabeth?"

I looked up in horror. It was Diane who had called my name. "Wait, Elizabeth?" I turned around in horror, "I - I don't know who - ." Jeremy grabbed my hand with a serious expression. "Elizabeth, don't lie to me." I tried to pull my hand away but he gripped it even tighter. His jade green eyes turned a darker shade. "Elizabeth," He murmured huskily. "I'm not letting you get away this time." I struggled to get away from him. "Jeremy, what was between us is over, let go of me." He didn't respond but continued whispering in my ear. "You still look so beautiful with your new bangs." Now I'm really starting to panic. "Jeremy! Let go!" I said loudly, trying to slap him. He grabbed my other hand, smirking.

Suddenly, a voice demanded. "What are you doing to Elizabeth?!" I looked over towards the owner of the voice. "Sir Meliodas?" Meliodas stood there, eyes looking a bit dark and ominous. "Let. Go. Of. Her." He growled, glaring at Jeremy. Jeremy smirked and let go of my wrists. He cracked his fists, "It's always fun to have a fist fight huh." Meliodas didn't say anything, he's just staring at the ground, his fists clenched. With that said, Jeremy swung his fist towards Meliodas's head. But Meliodas caught his hand while still staring at the ground. Jeremy laughed. You think that'll stop - ." He paused in mid-sentence. Meliodas is now glaring at him with hate, his eyes as dark as the void. A mark had appeared over his right eye, sort of a swirling mark. Then, in a smooth motion, he punched Jeremy in the stomach and he flew across the table, scattering dices and glass cups. Before the cups can fall to the ground, Meliodas had already sent Jeremy across the room as I watched in horror. When he was about to send Jeremy across the room once more, I snapped. "STOP! THAT'S ENOUGH!"

For some reasons, my bangs flew away from my right eye as a blinding light covered my vision

For some reasons, my bangs flew away from my right eye as a blinding light covered my vision. And then... all I can see was black.
