they passed each other in the hallway as yuta had gone up to get some water for his sleepy boyfriend.
"what are you doing awake?" jaehyun asked, almost spitting into yuta's face.
he had no idea why jaehyun had so much disgust for him.
not that he'd ever get a reasonable answer.
"i'm getting water. for sicheng."
"oh, because, let me guess," jaehyun looked at him, "you're this perfect boyfriend and he loves you."
yuta paused, his eyes widening. "you...you like sicheng?"
jaehyun said nothing. silence never sounded louder.
"jaehyun, i-"
"no, i get it. i just...i just think i'd be a better boyfriend,"
"huh? no. leave sicheng alone. d-don't do anything to him." yuta panicked, his voice wavering as jaehyun raised an eyebrow.
"or you'll what?"
jaehyun would never do anything to sicheng,
he just wanted to make sure yuta cared.
"jaehyun."
his tone was stern,
it gave jaehyun goosebumps.
"fine, fine, you're right."
jaehyun looked into yuta's eyes once more, noticing the way they no longer shined.
"i'm sorry, i'm an ass."
yuta just laughed. "i'll see you in the morning, jae."
"the same to you, yuta."

yuta woke up before sicheng, and his mood instantly soured.
what the fuck was jaehyun's game?
he considered responding to him,
but sicheng woke up,
giggling at how close their faces were.
"what's funny, bear?"
yuta asked, smiling.
"you. i love you."
sicheng said,
and he's said it before,
but it never fails to make yuta blush.
"shush, cutie. i love you more,"
is all is said, and sicheng cuddled into him further,
whining slightly.
"not to ruin the mood," sicheng muttered, his words muffled by yuta's chest, "but what was the notification i got before? i recognised the ringtone, i know it was mine."
"it was jaehyun," yuta paled, remembering what exactly the text said. "i-i'll be honest, i don't like the text."
sicheng looked at yuta, confused.
"huh?"
he immediately pulled away from yuta,
his eyebrows furrowed together as he read the message.
"that fucking bitch."
yuta stared at sicheng in shock.
sicheng had never sworn before.
"sicheng?"
"that fucking liar." is all sicheng said before balling his fists up, trying to hide a small cry that comes out. "you...you know i'd never cheat, yuta, right? i love you." he said, before exiting the door with a loud slam.
