A few weeks later...
Rachel's POV
I was under a tree, near the ocean, reading a book when I saw Ira walking alone along the beach. I closed my book and decided to go see what he was doing, since he looked upset.
Me:"Ira?"
Ira:"huh?! Oh...what do you want?"
Ira said, stubbornly, but I could still tell that something was bugging him.
Me:"what's wrong? You look sad."
Ira:"..."
Ira looked away from me, avoiding eye contact,
Ira:"...it...it's nothing..."
Me:"c'mon now, it takes a lot to make you look so sad, I should know! Now, tell me what happened. Is Katie ok?"
Ira:"..."
Ira looked at me again before responding,
Ira:"...Katie's ok...well, she's doing better than I am at least..."
Me:"huh? What do you mean?"
Ira:"...our parents...they were murdered the night I got Katie back from you and your friends..."
I gasped as I put my hand up to my mouth.
Me:"oh my god, I'm so sorry! That's terrible!"
Ira:"...it's fine...I'm almost over it, and Katie is getting there, too."
I couldn't believe it! That's so horrible, how could anyone do that?! Killing someone's parents is unforgivable! Especially when the kids are so young!
Me:"w-where's the killer?!"
Ira:"...I-I..."
I looked at Ira more closely and I saw that he was shaking ever so slightly,
Ira:"...I killed him..."
My eyes widened,
Me:"WHAT?!"
Ira:"it was self defence! He was about to stab me and there was a gun nearby! Believe me, I wouldn't have done it if I'd had a choice!"
Me:"..."
'So, it was self defence...ok, so, he's not necessarily a murderer..that's good, but...'
Suddenly, I realized how shaken up Ira really was...I realized that if I had been in that situation, I would've done the same thing...and that I would feel really guilty and upset...I gave Ira a hug. Ira was a little surprised at first, but he just let me hug him.
Ira:"w-why are you...?"
Me:"I figured you could use it."
A little while after I said that, Ira hugged me back. Then...Ira kissed me. I don't know why, but I didn't even flinch when he did it! It just felt right somehow. After a few moments, we ended the kiss and Ira broke free from the hug. We were both blushing like crazy!
Ira:"...I-I...that..."
Ira started, then gave me a stubborn and yet cute look,
Ira:"that...never happened, ok?"
Me:"..."
I didn't say anything, I was still stunned by the fact that we even kissed in the first place...and, to be honest...I kind of liked it. I looked at Ira again to see him starting to leave, suddenly, I realized something,
Me:"w-wait!"
I shouted, Ira turned back to look at me,
Me:"...I..."
I started,
Me:"...I love you..."
Ira looked surprised at first, but then, to my surprise, he smiled,
Ira:"...I love you, too."
With that, Ira teleported away, leaving me speechless,
'He actually loves me...'
I thought, then, I turned around to leave the beach, with a smile on my face. I hope I see that cute tsundere again soon.
