Here's the thing about feeling blue and isolated: you never know when it'll get the best of you. When it'll start eating you up.
As Will helped me up, he had a look of concern in his eyes. Something about concern always made me want to run a thousand miles away from the source. So anyway, i follow him while he's doing a weird I-wanna-talk-to-you-about-this action that's making me want to punch him again. But I don't. Thank gods. But to my dismay he still starts speaking, "So listen.. I didn't mean to come off as a jerk on our first interaction. I'm sorry about that."
"Then what were you intending to do?"
"Well, um, curiosity got the best of me.. I heard a dog bark in the morning and i decided to follow it inside the treehouse."
Oh shit! Buttspot!!
"Was it a Dalmatian?!"
"Yes..."
"Where is he now?!"
"He's in our garage..?" he more asked than said
"What do you mean he's in your garage?!"
"I thought he was a stray"
"Wow, first you invade my privacy then you steal my dog?!"
This was clearly not going well. I was beginning to get the feeling that this was how things would be between us from now on. And I briefly wondered who would kill whom first. Pulling me out of my dark thoughts, Will said, "hey, can you let me explain? You've been jumping to conclusions since I first saw you. Whatever happened to not judging a book by its cover?"
Not wanting him to thwart my coldness I said, "Oh, so you do agree that you come off as a jackass"
"Wow woman, you've got it locked and loaded don't you? Anyway, long story short, he was inside the treehouse and since I didn't see a collar I thought him to be a stray and brought him in. Gave him some food and water. Then, I went to the treehouse to get some clue as to how he got in there in the first place. That's all I was doing before you came storming in waving your blame-wand. You're welcome by the way."
"Then take me to him!" I half shouted. This whole thing had taken such a ridiculous turn that I just wanted to run back home and never come outside.
