'Oi Dianne.' A voice calls, she turns around smiling. 'Over here.' The fifteen-year-old walks to join the big group of people by the lockers. 'Morning.'
'Morning.' She draws out, her Aussie accent getting thinker. 'Did you have a good weekend?' The curly haired guy nods, as she goes to the locker next to him. She opens the locker door, her eyes scanning the timetable plastered on the door. 'Ugh I have Geography.' She whines. 'I fucking hate Geography.'
'You hate everything.' Amy points out, its true. Dianne wasn't particularly academic, struggling a lot in the academic side of school. She didn't totally hate school, she was one of the most popular girls in her form, scrap that, in her year.
'I like dance.' She points out. 'And PE.'
'You hate the academic side of it though.' Her friend points out. 'I'm surprised you took it , if I'm honest.' She is met with a whack from her friend's geography textbook. 'Oi what was that? The only extracurricular you were interested in was sucking Anthony off.' She rolls her eyes. 'Haven't a clue why you took PE, you have to stay after school.'
'We broke up.' She says, seemingly unphased, running her spare hand through her hair. 'And I enjoy PE.'
'What?' Johannes joins in the conversation. 'You and lover boy split up?' He wraps one arm around her shoulder as she shrugs him off. 'When?'
'Saturday. I'm not phased.'
'Details.' Her friend pesters her, as they make their way to their separate forms. 'You have to tell us at break.' She nods, she doesn't care. They may have been together over a year, but it hadn't phased her breaking it off with him. She knew it probably should have, but she didn't care. She couldn't bring herself to care about the breakup.
'Morning Miss Buswell.' A voice interrupts her thoughts. 'And Miss Dowden.'
'Morning Mrs Taylor.' Dianne grins back cheekily, knowing full well it wasn't a nice greeting, rather a snide remark, for her being late.
'I'm just about to mark you absent.' She starts. 'Again.'
'But we are here, and the register isn't closed.' She rolls her eyes.
'Good job I'm in a nice mood.' She tells the pair. 'You two need to learn about timekeeping.' They nod, hurrying to their seats on the back desk. 'Anyway, we are talking about post 16 education.' She tells the class. 'I expect you are all applying to sixth form.' She's met with a, mostly, nodding form. All bar two people, Dianne Buswell and Amy Dowden. 'Raise your hand if you have applied here.' The whole class, bar those two, have their hands up. Neither of them have even bothered to apply, knowing full well they aren't going to get the GCSE's they need to get into sixth form. Mrs Taylor didn't call them out on it, she had been a teacher long enough to know that neither of them would get the grades anyway. She drones on, as the pair of them zone out.
'I'll see you at break.' Amy tells Dianne. She nods and walks up the set of stairs to the Geography classrooms, always a nice start to a Monday morning. She thinks, walking into the classroom, to find everyone standing around. She is directed to stand next to the wall, she takes her place next to AJ who smiles at her.
'We have a new seating plan.' The teacher announces, 'Seeing as we have had problems with the last one.' He looks at Dianne, and then to AJ. The pair had been sat together, which was a nightmare. They had talked the whole lesson, disrupting everyone. 'AJ Prichard and Caroline Flack over here.' Dianne smirks as her friend leaves her, knowing full well he had a massive crush on her. 'Caspar Lee and Alfie Deyes over here.' He calls out names, leaving Dianne about fifth from last, he chose to put both AJ and Dianne at the front, on separate sides. 'Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg.' She sighs, flinging her bag down, clearly not happy about the change of the seating plan.
