Chapter 3: Will you Join The Red Team?

Third Person POV

It has been hours since Ms. Pauling had left the RED base. Even though she came with good news to the RED team with good news which is getting a new team member and female no less, but the with good news there's always bad news. Because apparently they weren't efficient enough to get the BLU's intelligence and keeping it at their base without getting their's stolen by the BLUs and not only that, apparently the administer had promised them money. And the  amount of it got bigger if their contract got extended.  

Sadly though that wasn't the case because  if they don't meet the deadline by 2 years given generously by the administrator. Their contracts will be dissolved and they won't get the money at all. Which left all 9 mercenaries pondering about their current situation that night. " 10 billion bucks...wow." Scout said in awe as he slid down one of  the walls of the garage. "Indeed" Spy replied while he smoked his cigarette. " Bloody hell." Sniper added, along with the other Mercs. 

Well except for Engie since he was the only one of the mercenaries who actually read the fine print of his contract(I think Engie is more one of the responsible Mercs), but he did excepted to be money involved. He didn't knew how much , but the fact that puzzled him the most. Is that the administrator chose his sweet little daughter figure Ruby. Then again she did saved millions , heck maybe billions of lives on her continent. He wondered why didn't she chose her Sister Yang, Blake , or Weiss or any of the other huntresses who would make  good candidates. Then again she did said they're all married and have kids of their own. From what Ruby told him when she was last in contact  with any of them. 

(I know this sentence is confusing , but Blake and Sun had Linen a few months after the war. Sage and Yang had Jr and Ember two years after the war, but Neptune and Weiss had a daughter a year after the war her name is Viridian also she's another RWBY character created by YouTuber  Mark Zhang . Watch his trailers their awesome. Also ruby is the godmother to all of her teammates kids except for the twins because she's their aunt also Linen and Viridian call her Aunt too just a heads up)

" I gotta tell her the news" Engie said to himself. While all the mercenaries were retiring for the night. Well all except for Engie because he promised a certain red hooded girl that he would visit her. After everyone was asleep Engie snuck out of his room and quietly walked towards the garage where his pick up truck is parked , but unfortunately like in every situation where you sneak out to see your friend or lover you get caught....most of the time anyways. 

"Where do yo'u think you're goin?" Scout asked Engie with a smirk. "J-Just goin out for a walk...p-partner." Engie replied with a stutter. "Where to though?" Scout asked again as his smirk started to turn into a grin. Engie then turned his head to look at Scout "U-uh I-I'm goin too-" "To see your lady friend?" "WHAT?! How did you know?"  he asked Scout nervously.  

"Oh com on Engie it's actually quite obvious. You always sneak out on every ceasefire day and on the weekends. Including on day offs" Scout replied with one of his smirks. "So who's The lucky girl?" He then asked Engie. "Whatdya mean?" "What is s'he like? Com o'n Engie I want to know." "Well s-she's um she's uh ........she's somethin." Engie then replied as he gave a nervous chuckle. 

"So'mething as in she's a cute adventur'ous kind coun'try  girl or so'mething like she's a scared old hag who is n'o fun at all and rather play it safe." Scout told Engie while playing with one his tools that he took out of his toolbox.
