Lincoln's POV

Today we would have the funeral ceremony for Alex, my best friend, my beta, my brother. Loss seemed to be something made just for Lily and I. We both seem to just lose everything and everyone. Maybe that's why the moon had chosen us to be each other's half.

Today we would let the wind carry away his ashes, he didn't want to be buried in the cemetery. He never liked the idea of rotting away in a box. He would always say that this way he would travel the world, maybe even be consumed and bring life to something else.

"How would you possibly bring life to something else as a pile of ashes" I asked amused he had a strange way of thinking. He rolled his eyes sat back in the couch in my office and crossed one leg over the other, giving me an annoyed look.

" because maybe like an animal would accidentally eat some of me, maybe it landed on its food or something, but anyways it would eat me poop me out then I'd become like fertilizer for like plants or trees and then maybe like a rabbit would eat that plant and the cycle would continue. It's the circle of life ever heard of that?" He finished rolling his eyes again.

"Whatever you say Mr.fertilizer" I added chuckling only to receive a glare from Alex before he laughed along with me.

" yea well I guess I walked into that one" he laughed out.

We had grown together from small pups.... it was going to be a rough day...

I finished putting on my black tie and jacket when I heard the door know.

"Come in" I said. I turned to see Emeline and Aina.

My heart ached for Emeline. I've been so busy that I haven't gotten around to keeping an eye on her, that's why I'm so thankful for my sister who no doubt stayed with her best friend in this terrible time.

"Emeline, I'm so sorry I haven't come to see you." I say before embracing her, she was such a sweet unproblematic she wolf. She was just a ray of sunshine but now she just looked lifeless.

"It's ok Lincoln, I just can't believe he's gone" she whimpered out. I hugged her more rubbing small circles on her back.

"He is in the moon now Eme, watching over us all." I say wiping away her tears. She nods in response and gives me a soft smile before holding onto Aina's hand for comfort.

"Is she coming Lincoln?" Aina asks referring to Lilian. I don't answer right away because I haven't decided whether or not it was a good idea.

"I don't know if it would be a good idea for her to be about with that devil at large still." I say. I don't know if any good would come from putting lily in danger. But she hasn't been out for a long while. Her wolf needs to be in a more social setting, I don't want to weaken them. Seeing Elliot a couple times a week isn't enough.

"I think I'll have her come out to pay her respects" I say after deciding that she would come out for a short while.

I mind link Elliott and tell him my plans.

Let head down stairs ladies the ceremony will start shortly. I say as we all make our way downstairs.

Lilian's POV

I finished eating my lunch when I heard some enter the bunker entrance and by the smell of it, it was Elliot. He shouldn't be back until tomorrow. I wonder if they've finally caught the bastard Zane.

Elliot enters the room with a big smile on his face and also empty handed which is unusual. He only comes to bring me more things I need.

"Hi Elliot, your back earlier than expected. Any good news?" I say hopefully? He gives me a big smile and nods.
