Lapis POV
"Peri, you sure your up for this?" "What do you mean Lazuli?" "I mean, you don't HAVE to cook for us. We can eat dinner at home." "No no, it's fine. I have to make something for myself anyway." It was almost time for my Mom to get here and for some reason I was the one getting nervous. I don't know if it was because my Mom knew more about my feelings than I did or that I don't want her getting a bad impression of Peridot. All in all I don't want my mom to come over. It's weird. "Alright Lazuli! Dinner done." "Ok Peridot. We waiting for my Mom?" "Sure I guess. So what do you want to do?" "I don't know, can I explore your house?" "Sure lemme take you on a tour."
Peridot POV
After she asked I rushed to my room to change a few things. I ran in and tore down my rainbow flag, cleaned up the trash lying around, and tidied up my bed. With that I went back down stairs and showed her the house. "So this, obviously is the kitchen/ living room." I said waving my arm around. "Next is the upstairs, which consists of my bedroom and spare rooms." I proceeded to lead her upstairs and show her to my room. "So this is my room" I said as I opened the door. "As you can se-" "Peridot, what's that?" "Hmm?" As I looked towards where she was pointing I felt a wave of awkwardness hit me. "U-uh a flag." "Excuse me for being straightforward, but are you gay?" "Would you angry if I said yes?" "No" After she said that I slowly nodded my head and I could swear I could see a hint of happiness in her eyes. "Oh cool," Lapis said, "So am I."
