The next morning, I was up before everyone and started breakfast. Sebastian woke up first making some noises through the baby monitor in the kitchen. I went up into his room and saw him swinging a lion around and cooing. "Hi buddy." I said walking up to his crib. "You ready to start the day?"
He giggled and reached up for me. I picked him up, changed him, and got him dressed. I grabbed his lion stuff animal from the crib. I realized that it was the one I had sent for him when he was born. I then turned around to see Clint leaning into the door frame. "Oh, hey, I figured I'd get him ready for you. It's be one less thing for you to worry about doing later." I told him.
Clint grinned nodding, "You're a natural you know. Laura always use to joke saying, "this one will love his second momma." And she was right he loves you already. So do all the others by the way." He trailed off for a moment just watching me nuzzle Sebastian with his lion making him giggle. "I heard what you told Lulu last night. Thank you, for always being there for the kids and us."
I looked back up at him, "All I did was tell her the truth. I love these kids as if they were my own. You know I can't have any of my own, and it kills me inside. You also know that I'll always be here, so there's no need to thank me." I point to Peter who was still fast asleep in his bed next on the adjacent wall to the crib, and headed for the door, "Now you get Peter up, and by the time your both ready breakfast should be too."
Fifteen minutes later; while feeding Sebastian, Peter, and myself; a herd of animals came rushing down the stairs. I glanced up as everyone just threw themselves into the chairs. I raised an eyebrow, "Umm, good morning everyone. Eggs, sausage and cheese, and some toast are ready. You all have to get your own plates and drinks though."
A collective sigh filled the air. I smirked and watched as everyone slowly got up, and walked into the kitchen. By the time everyone was done, and Clint was gone, the phone ringed.
"Barton residence. Yes, I know it's Monday, today. No, Mr. Barton is away. Yes, we will be right there." I answered.
"Who was that?" Alex asked.
"Your Vice Principal. He said if you and Dimitri were late again. You both would be suspended. He wants to see you in his office right away."
They looked at each other. "Well stop sitting around go get your stuff."
The three headed up the stairs for their school things. I looked at Peter and shook my head. "Wish us luck, buddy."
I grabbed him and Sebastian, and head for their room to pick up the carriers and bags I made earlier that morning. We all met at the door, and went to the garage and got in the car. I just finished buckling in Peter and started on Sebastian. "Auntie Nat, if you don't hurry up we will be late for sure." Lulu said.
"Not on my watch." I told her finishing up Sebastian's seat and shut the door.
"You guys will be suspended for sure." I heard Lulu mention as I climbed in the front seat.
I rolled my eyes and floored it out of the driveway. I then smirked as I sped down the road; while the kids were freaking out. "Woah, woah, woah!" Dimitri yelled.
"Aaaahhh!" yelled Lulu.
"Oh my God! Who drives like this? You are crazy!" yelled Alex.
I flung the van into a parking spot as what I assume was the warning bell rung. I jumped out grabbed the boys and followed the kids to the Vice Principals office just as the regular bell chimed.
"Got'em here. My fault." I told him as I set the boys down.
"Yea, I always said these kids needed a parole officer. Looks like Mr. Barton thought so too." He responded.
