Chapter 3

Oliver's P.O.V

Being the leader of all blood suckers is kinda tiring. When I was a kid, becoming leader was my goal in life, but now that I actually achieve it, it just became so tiring. I need to make sure that none of them will kill one single human by drinking too much of their blood, I also need to buy blood from hospitals for emergency supply and then think of a place where we can go hunt for animals which is harder because of the werewolves. My head hurts by just worrying about food, then there's rouge vampire's and other important stuff.

I slam my pen on my desk and lean back on my chair with a sigh. I close my eyes for a moment, but then open them immediately, sitting here won't make me relax. With that in mind, I got up and went to the nearby park, as I walk around I notice a lot of people exercising, some of them in group, pairs or alone. These humans looks like they don't have any problems at all, but I know every single one has more than one, most of them just act like everything is fine.

I continued walking when my eyes landed on a certain man who looks tired as he was crouching, he really is pushing himself, I walk towards his direction and notice a nice smell of coffee and caramel coming off of him. Mate. He's my mate! He stand up straight and look over someone and then turn around to meet my eyes. He must have realize that I'm also his mate because his eyes widen. A warlock huh? Golden eyes suits him. I've been waiting for him since I turned 20, I'm now 26 and finally I found him.

I continue walking towards him when he turn around and ran away. Before I could react, he's no longer in sight. Well damn. I could always follow his scent but with strong wind, his scent is everywhere. Great, just great. Now, how am I suppose to find him?

Letting it go for now, I went back home, well it's actually an abandoned building with 27 floors. I went back to the papers I did and continue checking it.

Golden eyes invade my mind and now I lost my focus again. Damn.

My secretary, Alisha, came in and ask me to sign some papers. She summarizes what's in the paper before I sign it, she was about to go out when I stop her.

"Hey Alisha"

"Yes sir?" She turn around and look at me.

"I found my mate" I say smugly.

"Really? When?" She ask, now sitting on the opposite chair to mine.

"Just now, I went to the park for a break with everything here. He was working out and I just happened to be in the same spot as him" I smile as I remember the little encounter.

"And? Did you talk to them?" My smile drop.

"No. He ran away from me as soon as he realize who I am"

"He? Ooh! Your wish came true huh? You said you wanted your mate to be a guy, because girls are just too much. Good luck with that sir, men are worse." She stand up and went out, leaving me dumbfounded. What does she mean men are worse? Men have less drama.

It was already nine in the evening when I decided that the papers I did for today is enough. Alisha already left two hours earlier, so I head straight to my room and took a hot shower, being a vampire means having a body with low temperature. So, for me to feel what 'hot' or 'warm' feels like, I always shower with hot water, but no matter how hot the water is, I still can't feel anything. I give up and just get on with it faster, so that I can go to bed.

After I shower, I change into my boxers and slid under my covers.

Fast Forward: Two Weeks

I'm currently in my office, signing these endless papers. Due to this massive paperwork, I haven't been able to went out and look for my mate. I can't just have a time to do it, I mean I have time, but it's not enough for looking.

I was busy reading when Cherry, Alisha's daughter knock and came in.

"Hello sir, I'm sorry for disturbing you, but I have an important message for you" She says and stood in front of me. 

"What is it?" I ask still reading a tax report.

"My friend, Stacy has a brother named Alexander and he told me to apologize to you for running away that time and that he will be there Saturday seven pm, waiting for you." This made me look at her. 

"Alexander? He said that?" I ask unbelievably. Cherry nodded. How did he know that- never mind how. I can't help but smile as I feel happiness and excitement, Cherry's eyes widen when she saw me smile, well can't blame her, I don't smile that often, especially when I'm around someone. My dad always told me that I should always look strict when facing my people so that they'll respect me and follow my orders. I don't agree with it, but I need to follow what he says, he knows more than me. I told Cherry to tell Alexander I'll be there and thank her, she did as I say and excuse herself. When she's no longer inside, I lean back on my seat and grin, finally we'll meet again. 

After day dreaming, I went back to work and surprisingly I didn't find it tiring and boring. My mate just made my day without even knowing it. He's already making me feel relax, see? If it was a girl, she would just make my headache worse with dramas and everything else.

This time, I actually finish all the paperwork for the week and I can finally sleep early. Same as before, I took a hot shower and then slid under my covers. 

I can't wait for Saturday to come. I can't wait to see him again and stare at those beautiful golden eyes.
