There he and I stood, watching the pass. He was still astounded even after the hour that had greatly impacted his life had passed. Who would have guessed that a woman who survived being shot in the back nine times over seven years ago would have now been told that she was going to die?

What was wrong? Why didn't she ask to go to the hospital or ask us to all sit down so she can tell us? I was furious. We all wept silently in the hospital room. As time had passed, we had found ourselves, weeping as we planned her funeral.
