Sin in the Sleeping Forest
You flew through the clouds at a miraculous speed, wings outstretched and dress flapping in the wind (see picture above) as Camelot quickly became a small speck in the distance behind you. The air felt so good up above the clouds, closer to home. You found yourself grinning, when was the last time I had flown this high?
You closed your eyes and tried to sense the other sins, forgetting Merlin for now. They all seemed so far apart, and their power much weaker than before, particularly one.
"Diane" You whispered as you open your eyes and changed course, your large wings turning towards a fog-cloaked forest nestled beside a small, quiet town.
As you land on the ground outside of the forest, your wings retreat into your back. The trees in front of you seem gloomy and dark, fog spills out from around their old trunks and not a sound comes from inside. A rabbit races out from inside a hollow log, bolting between your legs as it retreats away from the looming trees.
The town seems quite a bit away as you looked back over your shoulder. The aura from Diane now much easier to sense now that you were back on the ground. Though you couldn't sense any other creatures inside as far as you could tell.
Your fingers twist your ring out of habit as your feet crunched over the dead leaf litter. Suddenly, another sound caught your attention, a twig snapping, and your head spun around towards the noise.
A short figure steps out from behind a tree trunk, "Meliodas?" How odd, you had just been thinking about him, how did he get here?
"Yo!" He says thoughtfully, his hand reaching out of his pocket to wave at you.
You found yourself staring at the unarmored sin with his handsome young smile and wild blonde hair, "You haven't changed a bit."
"Really?" He laughs.
Hang on. Since when did the Dragon Sin of Wrath not have a witty comeback or flirty thing to say to you? In all the time you had spent fighting alongside him there was barely a conversation Meliodas hadn't spent trying to come onto you. Though he didn't normally need to try very hard, he had known you long enough, and far too well.
"Meliodas..." Already suspicious of this blonde boy however, you wracked your brain to try to think of something only he would know. "Who likes you, Diane or Merlin?"
Meliodas thought hard, scratching his small chin, the smile vanished from his face for some time. The young boy shrugged, "Both of them!"
"Wrong..." You smirked, "Stardust, fifth configuration – Soul Splitter!"
In a flash, nearly less than a second after your command, a weapon had manifested in front of his face. A large, double-edged scythe, one blade pressed against the blonde imposter's throat. Your hand outstretched to control the powerful weapon.
Suddenly, there were hundreds of Meliodas' surrounding you, all of them drew broken swords, and the one with the blade to his throat looked terrified. Definitely not an expression your Meliodas possessed.
You huffed "pathetic", their power levels combined wouldn't even be as strong as Escanor at night-time.
Turning your wrist, the double scythe began to spin and move like a massive shuriken, slicing all of the Meliodas' in half. As they were destroyed, a strange imp-like creature fell out of the plume of smoke left behind and retreated off into the forest.
You took very little time before deciding to follow them, they had to be going somewhere. Maybe towards Diane. "Her aura definitely feels stronger walking this way" you spoke quietly, striding over a large root as the weapon disappeared in a small burst of star dust. Thinking about the strange imps, you tried to place where you had seen them before, they must be hide-and-seeks, "I guess they turned into Meliodas because I was worrying about him".
