Chapter 2: Hungry?

Cassa's POV

At school the next day Cai, Kimberly and Tia tagged along with me all day making sure I didn't have a run with anyone I didn't need to run into. When it was time for lunch I walked with Cai as we just had double English together and we walked into the cafeteria and I saw Kimberly and Tia at a table deep in conversation and didn't see us as we walked over and to take a seat. 'Oh good, you're here!' Tia smiled, 'Can we go get lunch.'

I nodded and we walked over to wait in the line.

We were waiting for a good five minutes and we only just got inside the gates when two hands snaked their way around my waist and dragging me back into a warm hard chest and I started to freak. I turned to see Declan, I think it was, lent forward so that his mouth was next to my ear and he whispered 'What about me?'

Tia turned around to talk to me but shut her mouth when she saw the panic and fear in my eyes and screamed and then Cai had jumped the gate and ripped me out of Declan's arms and into his own.

'Don't fucking touch her, Declan,' Cai growled out and Declan took a step back away from us,' and that goes for every other guy, touch my sister and I'll make you wish you hadn't even laid eyes on her!' and I could only think how protected I felt in his arms and how my small body fitted perfectlyinto my tall brother's frame. Cai just turned around with me still in his arms and waited in line with me and we payed for lunch and went and sat down back at the table and began eating.

When someone came up behind me and lifted me out of my chair and hugged me and I froze on the spot, fear completely taking over me and that's when Cai sprung to action

'Put her down, NOW,' Cai growled out and without waiting for an answer lifted me out of whoever was holding me still being held but now in my brothers arms and he hugged close to me and I turned my head as he turned his head and glared at Declan who was glaring at Cai and they looked like they were having a stare off or a glare off as they were glaring at each other, and I wrapped my arms more tightly around Cai's body and he pulled me closer as he tightened his grip on me. 'Why don't you let her make her own decisions, Cai,' Declan smirked, 'what do you think, Cassa? Shouldn't you get a say in this?'

My bottom lip trembled and I whipped my head around and pushed my face into my brother's chest and started crying into it and I felt him walk away and down through the corridors and outside into the forecourt and sat down on a bench and we sat like that for a while as he stroked my head shushing me while I cried into his shirt and then I heard Kimberly and Tia walk upto us and hugged us.

We stayed like that for a while until athird person approached us, I had stopped crying as Cai put me down and stood up leaving me in between Kimberly and Tia who were still cuddling me. I watched as Declan and Cai yelled at each other. Then Declan fisted his hands and swung, hitting Cai. I looked away before his fist collided with Cai's jaw, not wanting to see the outcome knowing it would be bad but that didn't block out the sound as I heard a sickening snap and swung my head around to see Cai on the floor with both hands on his jaw and Declan had a smug smile on his face, that made me want to slap it off his face. I ran over to Cai and fell to my knees beside him, looking up at Declan with hatred and anger and he just walked away still smiling. Tia ran to get a teacher and I pulled Cai into my lap pulling him close to me while Kimberly sat next to me.

'Where is he?' Mr Wallace asked Tia, 'Oh dear Lord!'

'I'll go notify the office and they can call someone, Mr Wallace,' Tia called over her shoulder as sheran to the office.

'What happened here?' He asked.

'I-I had been crying a-and Cai walked m-me o-o-out here a-and Kimberly and T-Tia came out h-h-here a couple o-of m-minutes l-later and-and D-Declan f-f-followed and C-Cai and D-D-Declan w-were arguing a-a-and D-D-D-Declan p-punched C-C-Cai i-i-in the j-j-jaw,' I stuttered out, close to crying again at the thought of Cai hurt.

'Right, and may I ask why were they arguing?' He questioned.

'M-M-M-Me, S-S-Sir,' I stuttered.

Then Tia came running with one of the nurses from the office with a medical kit and I reached for one of Cai's hands while the nurse crouched down beside us and rummaged through the kit and assured us that he hadn't broken it but will need to be x-rayed and placed an ice pack on his jaw and we walked with him leaning heavily on me and Mr Wallace to the office and once we got there he wouldn't let go of my hand, not that I was going to let go . We sat in silence until a paramedic came and we sat in the back of the ambulance truck and I held his hand tightly and he kept giving me reassuring squeezes every now and then and I would mumble, 'everything is going to be fine,' more over to myself then to Cai even though I didn't really believe it.
