Chapter 4 - Second Kira and girl problems

Light's pov.

I was worried about Max not being home yet and was getting some water before studying a little when the front door opens. Max walks in and she looks over at me before giving a small sigh. I smirk a little before walking over to her with a cup of water in my hand. "How is your dad doing?" She asks and I give a sigh. "He had a heart attack because of the stress. He should be fine." I say and she nods before looking around as if a thought occurs to her. How is your mom and sister handling it?" She asks and I sigh before throwing an arm around her shoulder and leading her up to my room. Once we were alone I set my cup down on my desk. "As well as they can. What happened earlier today?" I say before walking back over to her and she gives a small sigh. I point at my bed and she looks over at it before sitting down on the bed and I take a seat next to her. "Stuff. I may have to leave for a while." Max says and I frown at her not wanting her to go and whoever was doing this may end up a victim of Kira in the near futer. "I see." I mumble before letting her leave. "So what are you going to do about it?" Ryuk asks as he looks at me.

"About what?" I ask in a low tone mostly because I didn't want Max or my family hear me talking to him. "Your girlfriend having to go away. Won't that make you mad?" Ryuk asks as he hovers over me. I growl lightly starting to get mad at the shinigami who owned the death note before me. "Of course I am mad. No one will ever take her from me. I've wanted her for a while now and now that I have her I'm not going to let anyone or anything get in my way of that not even L can get in my way." I snap at him before resting my left arm over my eyes so I didn't have to look at him. "Isn't that hard with you being Kira and all? Unless Kira took care of her problem." Ryuk says and I smirk a little at the thought. All I needed to do was find out what was going on with Max then I could help her out without her knowing. "That is a good idea Ryuk." I say before rolling over and falling asleep.

When I got up the next morning I felt a little lighter before walking down to eat something. Max was sitting there talking to my sister and mom about dad. "Light good morning." Mom says when she sees me and I take a seat next to Max who looks up at me giving me a mumbled good morning and I was worried something else had happened until I notice the dark circles under his eyes. "Max is everything alright?" Sayu asks and Max giving a small sigh. "Yeah everything's fine. I um..I need to go do some work." Max says before leaving us all sitting there in shock as she heads up to her room. "Mom do you really think he's fine?" Sayu asks as she grabs my mom's hand and even mom looked worried. "Max told me last night that he might have to leave for a while but never said why." I say and that makes both my mom and sister gasp at me. Mom stands and leaves me alone with my sister as she heads up stairs as well. "I don't want Max to go, he is so nice and sweet." Sayu says and I sigh as we eat together.

Alex's/ Max's pov.

I was a little shocked when Mrs. Yagami walked into my room and she sat down across from me on the desk chair. "Max what happened?" She asks and I give a small sigh. "My family is going to be dug up for another autopsy. I have to go back home to deal with that. To keep them barred where they are." I say in a soft tone. I almost broke and let this woman know I myself was a girl but I kept myself together as I shake a little. "I see that's horrible." She says before walking over to me and placing a hand gently on my shoulder. We sit there in silence for a while before she stands and looks into my eyes. "Go take a hot bath, it should help you relax a little and go take a nap once your done." She orders and I give a small sigh before nodding my head. Not long after Mrs. Yagami let my room I got a call from L telling me to come in.  I agree and not long after I get there L turns on the TV for a news program. "Kira's doing this?" I ask dumbly not believing that Kira would do such a thing. L was worried I could tell from the tone in his voice as he told the others to stop the broadcast that was currently going on. I walks over and stand right next to L's chair and he glances up at me as if worried about something bad happening.
