The morning sunlight glisnened on through the skeleton trees, and shimmered like diamonds on the lake of shining water. Fallen leaves crunshed under my trainers as I emerged from the trees to gaze into the depths of the water. Sitting down on the banks of its beutiful scenery.

I watched a pure white swan delicatly pick its way towards it's sygnets on the other side of the bank. I was swept away into and dream of my own.

I heard a shuffle of feet and the snap of a twig behind me way to close for comfort, I came, at startaling speed back down to earth. Whipping my head round to see who had so rudely interrupted my pleasant day dream. As my eyes scoured the bare tree in search of the intuder, I realised that my efferts where usless, so i turned round to try and zone out again back to the place i had been just moments before. I couldn't!

I begrudgingly stood up with a sense of annoyance at my failure in the atempt to escape doing my homework like I managed most nights. Missing homework wasn't the only reason I went there.

I trudged back home while whistling a tune to myself, and scuffing  my shoes on the pavement.

I stood outside the outside of my brick 4 bedroom house, I stepped forwards to the front door and took my key out of my  fluffy coat pocket. As I stood trying to get the key to work in the lock I could already the sound of raised voices.

I stepped inside to be welcomed by the sound of an argument in full blow. Apparently my brother, Alex had hit my sister Scarlet. This is most likely not correct Alex nearly never hit people and even on the rare occasion he did it would be for a good reason.

Alex, my big brother, is 14 and generally nice person who is very unlikely to hit her unless she hit him fist and then he is normally still gentle about it. This still only happens if he is in a good mood or a normal one, in a bad mood Alex is a whole different matter he then is rather horrible and is not gentle about it.

Whereas Scarlet, my little sister, is 6 and seems to take pleasure in other people's misery and likes to make others life completely miserable. Unless she is in a very good mood and then it is even more annoying being around her because she kind of drains her surroundings to make her feel better.

In my opinion Scarlet hit Alex because she was in a bad mood, or some other bad excuse, and in response Alex proded her. And therefore Scarlet would decide to have a screaming fit and blame it all on Alex.

I sneaked past the angry pair, and sprinted up the carpeted stairs, skidding round the corner just in time to see my mum dump a pile of clean laundry on my bed, and walk past giving me the look that said 'I'm so worn out, just tell them to give me a break.' I smiled. If they did carry on I did have an intent on going down to give them a peace of my mind.

After an hour of homework and once the sound of lound voices had died down I decided it was safe to go down stairs. After all I was starving (not literally).

When I was down in the kitchen once I had finished scoffing food that I wasn't supposed to, I realised that the house was unusually quite and I couldn't sense the presence of anyone.

I was home alone!

I had been home alone before, but I had always been told before hand and if not i would be left a note on the kitchen table.

But this time i had been left nothing!
