October 21.

~Victoria's POV~

Today is my first Quidditch match, Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw. I'm not going to lie, I am a bit nervous. It's my first match here and I want to do good. What's wrong with that?

Being nervous and the early bird I am, I had woken up super early and was one of the first at breakfast. Currently, I was sitting for myself at the Gryffindor table. A weak smile appeared on my face as I see my brother walking into the Great Hall.

"Nervous about today," he asked as he sat down next to me. "A bit" I answered honestly. "Don't worry, I know you'll do great today," James says as he steals a piece of bacon from my plate. "Thanks. And you? Excited I guess," I say not caring about the bacon. "Yeah... We're playing against Ravenclaw, they are decent but we should be able to win" James says before he steals another piece of bacon from my plate. "James, I love you and all, but get your own damn bacon!" I say annoyed and he chuckles.

We keep talking, and James actually got his own bacon. So, of course, I'm going to steal back. "Hey!" James says as I steal a piece of bacon from his plate. "What?" I ask before stealing another piece of bacon from his plate. "You have your own damn bacon," he says annoyed. "Yeah, but now we're even" I smile.

~Later~
(A/N: I really feel like this part is badly written, sorry 😕)

My eyes scanned the Quidditch field for what felt like the hundred times. But still, it failed to see the snitch. Luckily for me, the Ravenclaw seeker hadn't seen it either.

The score was 60-40 to Gryffindor. Even though I wasn't really following what was happening, I knew that half of those points had been scored by James. What I was consenting on, was finding the snitch before the Ravenclaw seeker. I continue to glance at the field. And finally, I see that bloody snitch. Slowly, I start flying toward the snitch.

When I'm like ten meters away, the snitch flies aways fast, fast. Shit, I think before flying after it on full speed. By now the Ravenclaw seeker has noticed the snitch as well, and he is getting closer and closer. Soon, we are flying next to each other while both having a hand reaching for the snitch.

Suddenly, the snitch takes an unexpected swing upwards. I'm quick to follow, him not so much. Almost... almost... almost... Got it!

~After dinner~

I had just left the Great Hall when I heard an unfamiliar voice say "Well played today". I look to my left and see a somewhat familiar face. "Thanks, you're not too bad yourself," I say with a smirk. "Thanks, but I'm sure I would have done better if you weren't so distracting," he says playfully, I think. "By the way, I'm Jacob, Jacob Smith," Jacob says smiling. So the name of the Ravenclaw seeker is Jacob Smith... "Victoria, Victoria Potter," I say my name. Now that we are next to each other, I notice that we're about the same height. "Did you know that it's Hogsmeade weekend next week?" he asked. His Chocolate brown eyes match his slightly curly hair. Looking at him, I realised that he was pretty handsome... "Nope, I was not aware of that," I said, making sure I popped the 'p' in 'nope'. "Well, I was wondering if you would like to go to Hogsmeade with me, like a date?" Jacob asked. Now that surprised me. I was not expecting that. Should I say yes? Or should I say no? He is cute... "Um... Yeah, sure" I said without really thinking. "Cool, I'll see you around" Jacob grinned and walked away.

When I was sure he had left, I started smiling to myself. Wow, it's only mid-October and I already have a date. A not ugly one too.

My thoughts got interrupted by a too familiar voice that also made me stop walking, "And why are you smiling like that, young lady?". My smile disappeared. Of course, I would run into him.
