A Secret admirer? Part 1: Prinxiety

Virgil's POV

I wake up in my twin sized bed as my alarm blazes at me, the last time I looked at it, right before I fell asleep, it said 4:57 AM. Looking at it now it says 6:03 AM…. ‘ Crap…. I barely got any sleep again... ’ I still tiredly get up…. I walk into my bathroom just off my room. And take a quick shower, get dressed in my usual black ripped jeans, purple shirt, and my my favorite hoodie, and put on my foundation and eyeshadow. I grab my phone off the charger, and the screen flashed on and said ‘ 6:46 ’. I grab my backpack, and start my long, cold, walk to school.

I walk up to the high school at around 6:55, with about 5 minutes to get to class, like I do on any normal school day, but I realized on the way here, today was no normal day. Ugh! Its valentines day… its not the fact that I don't have anybody, it's the fact that people seem to think that Valentines is an excuse to be all ‘ lovey dovey ’... disgusting! Not to mention love is pointless and a waste of time….. All you do is give someone a false feeling of someone even caring for them, in the end there heart is always broken. Love is pointless and disappointing. I didn’t seem to notice a cat ear wearing girl calling my name, and is running up behind me. “ Greetings, Virge! What’s up? ” I jump at least five feet in the air. When I turn to look at who it was, I see one of my only two friends Rosa. “ Rosa! How many times do I have to tell you not to sneak upon me like that!?  ” she giggles and speaks “ sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you! You just didn’t respond when I called your name the first two times….. ” she giggled again ‘ Did I really zone out that bad that I didn’t hear her calling me? ’ I look shocked. Yet all she does is say “ It's fine! You don't do it to ungodly often! ” I calm at her words, it's as if she can tell my insecurities from just a glance…. “ If we don’t hurry, we’ll be late for class! Let’s go! ” she says, waiting for me to take my usual place at her side, as we walk to our 0 hour class.

When we get there, I head to my desk, and Rosa goes to her’s. When I get to my seat, and I see a envelope….. ‘ Who evan still uses envelopes anymore?!? ’ I roll my eyes and open the envelope. Inside is a folded piece of paper, that said ‘ Dear Virgil Liebe,   you may not know who I am, but I thought you would like to! If you would like meet me, I have a scavenger hunt for you! The theam is Disney movies! The first clue is : You may run away from me all day, but i'll always find your lost slipper. You'll find the next clue in your locker.    With love, ~your Secret admirer!~ ‘ the note was written in cursive, and in bright red gel-pin ‘ ….. They wrote it in red gel-pin…. great…. ’ are they joking? Who would want to date an emo like me!? And what the hell does ‘ but i'll always find your lost slipper. ’ even mean!? I feel someone leaning over my shoulder. My head snaps up to see who is there and and see my only other friend Patton. “ Hey patton.  Your here on time for once…. ” I say jokingly he laughed and said “ I’m not always late, kiddo! ” at that moment, I see Rosa stop getting her supplies out, and walk over to us. “ Greetings, Patton! How have you been? ” she smiles brightly, and Patton smiles just as brightly back. They get along well, but it's almost unbearable how cheery they both are…. “ Howdy , kiddo! I've been fe-line great, what about you? ” he said noticing the pink and red headband she is wearing. I snicker at his pun, but he has it coming if he thinks that he can make a pun at her and get away with it…. “ Really question-bark? That's claw-some to hear. ” she said the last part and touched one of the ears on her headband. I snicker again. Patton's smile widens even further…. ‘ Oh god…. Not again…. They’re going to have a full on pun war…. ’ ’ …. ’ “ …. ” “  ….” after a few moments of silence, they began to laugh very chreeraly. ' oh thank god! ' When they calmed down, Patton spoke “ So kiddo, whatcha reading? ” he asked me leaning back over, I quickly cover it up with my arms so he couldn't read most of it. At this point Rosa gets interested, and walks over to my other side, and leans down like Patton did moments ago. She looked irritated when i just covered it up more. “ Come on, Virgil! I just wanna see what you were freaking out about before Patton showed up! ” Patton looked up at her with a shocked expression. “ He was freaking out!? Is everything ok, kiddo? ” I start panic, i look at the note for a moment, then look back up at them, and say “ No, i’m fine. I’m just worried what you guys would think if you read it….. ”  They look sympathetic towards me, and Rosa said “ Virgil…. You know we won't think differently of you, right? ”, right after Patton said “ Really! We promise we won’t! ” I look down on the note one last time, and sigh, and say “ Fine. You guys can read it….. ” Rosa gave a small cheer of approval, and leaned back over the note when I uncovered it. When she read it she looked shocked, and suddenly burst out “ I Know that handwriting from somewhere! ” Me and Patton look at her smiling face in shock. “ You know who wrote this? Can you tell me- ” just then the 0 hour bell rang, signalling the start of the hour. For the rest of the hour my mind was running from one thought to another about the note and who could have written it.
